The New Noise Theology E.P.
''The New Noise Theology E.P.'' is a release by Swedish hardcore punk band Refused, which features their flagship song "New Noise", already on the album ''The Shape of Punk to Come'', and the previously unreleased songs "Blind Date" and "Poetry Written in Gasoline". A remix of "Refused Are Fucking Dead", a song also found on ''The Shape of Punk to Come'', also features on the release. These songs later appeared, in the same order, on the 2004 re-issue of '' The E.P. Compilation''. Quite unusually, it appears that the cover art on the CD has been switched over, so that the graphics made for the back of the CD appear on the front, and vice versa. The music video for "New Noise" was available on the CD (enhanced CD) version of the album. Refused
Refused (also known as the Refused) is a Swedish hardcore punk band originating from Umeå and formed in 1991. Refused is composed of vocalist Dennis Lyxzén, guitarist Kristofer Steen, drummer David Sandström, and bassist Magnus Flagge. Guitarist Jon Brännström was a member from 1994, through reunions, until he was fired in late-2014. Their lyrics are often of a non-conformist and politically far-left nature and were for a time associated with the straight edge subculture. The band released their debut album '' This Just Might Be... the Truth'' in 1994. They followed this up with ''Songs to Fan the Flames of Discontent'' (1996) and five EPs. In 1998, the band released ''The Shape of Punk to Come'', which expanded their sound with jazz and electronic influences, but was initially poorly received commercially and critically. The group shortly after disbanded during their subsequent tour. Despite limited contemporary success, Refused were influential on the development of roc ...

AllMusic
AllMusic (previously known as All Music Guide and AMG) is an American online music database. It catalogs more than three million album entries and 30 million tracks, as well as information on musicians and bands. Initiated in 1991, the database was first made available on the Internet in 1994. AllMusic is owned by RhythmOne. History AllMusic was launched as ''All Music Guide'' by Michael Erlewine, a "compulsive archivist, noted astrologer, Buddhist scholar and musician". He became interested in using computers for his astrological work in the mid-1970s and founded a software company, Matrix, in 1977. In the early 1990s, as CDs replaced LPs as the dominant format for recorded music, Erlewine purchased what he thought was a CD of early recordings by Little Richard. After buying it he discovered it was a "flaccid latter-day rehash". Frustrated with the labeling, he researched using metadata to create a music guide. In 1990, in Big Rapids, Michigan, he founded ''All Music Guide' ...

David Sandström
David Sandström (born 2 January 1975) is the drummer for hardcore punk group Refused. After Refused broke up, Sandström and the other members of Refused worked on a project entitled TEXT and released one album. Then David went on to do solo work. In 2008 he formed the hardcore punk band AC4 with Refused frontman Dennis Lyxzén, playing bass guitar. Sandström states that before Refused formed he was a "glue-sniffing death metal kid" but eventually a fan of Step Forward, the embryo of Refused. As Step Forward called it quits and the friendship between Sandström and Dennis Lyxzén grew stronger, Lyxzén took him home and made him listen to Youth of Today's ''We're Not in This Alone'' album over and over again in a room alone.

The Shape Of Punk To Come
''The Shape of Punk to Come: A Chimerical Bombination in 12 Bursts'', often shortened to ''The Shape of Punk to Come'', is the third album by Swedish hardcore punk band Refused, released on 27 October 1998 through Burning Heart Records. Although Refused broke up only months after the album's release, ''The Shape of Punk to Come'' has since found an audience for the band and largely contributed to their posthumous fame, as well as inspiring many later artists in a wide range of genres. ''Kerrang!'' magazine listed ''The Shape of Punk to Come'' at #13 on their ''50 Most Influential Albums of All Time'' list in 2003. Overview This album marked a sharp and conscious departure from Refused's earlier work. The philosophy of the album, expounded in the ample liner notes and encapsulated in the song "New Noise", was that punk and hardcore music could not be anti-establishment by continuing to package revolutionary lyrics in sounds which had been increasingly co-opted into the mainstrea ...
