The New Mutants (comic Book)
The New Mutants are a group of fictional mutant superheroes appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, generally in association with the X-Men. Originally depicted as the teenaged junior class at the Xavier Institute, subsequent stories have depicted the characters as adult superheroes (in their eponymous series as well as in related titles such as X-Force and The Avengers) or as teachers and mentors to younger mutants. The team first appeared in '' The New Mutants'' (September 1982) by Chris Claremont and artist Bob McLeod, part of the '' Marvel Graphic Novel'' line, followed by an ongoing series which ran from 1983 until 1991. X-Force
X-Force is a fictional team of superheroes appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, most commonly in association with the X-Men. Conceived by writer/illustrator Rob Liefeld, the team first appeared in ''New Mutants'' #100 (April 1991) and soon afterwards was featured in its own series called ''X-Force''. The group was originally a revamped version of the 1980s team, the New Mutants. X-Force's first leader was the mutant Cable. An offshoot of the X-Men, X-Force takes a more militant and aggressive approach towards its enemies compared to the X-Men. An alternate incarnation of X-Force appears in the 2018 film ''Deadpool 2'' as part of the ''X-Men'' film series. The New Mutants (film)
''The New Mutants'' is a 2020 American superhero horror film based on the Marvel Comics team of the same name. It is a spin-off film in the ''X-Men'' film series and the thirteenth and final installment overall before the whole series was moved to Marvel. The film was directed by Josh Boone from a screenplay he wrote with Knate Lee, and it stars Blu Hunt, Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Heaton, and Alice Braga. In the film, a group of young mutants held in a secret facility fight to save themselves. Boone and Lee first began work on the film after Boone completed '' The Fault in Our Stars'' (2014). Rob Liefeld
Robert Liefeld (; born October 3, 1967) is an American comic book creator. A prominent writer and artist in the 1990s, he is known for co-creating the character Cable (comics), Cable with writer Louise Simonson and the character Deadpool with writer Fabian Nicieza. In the early 1990s, Liefeld gained popularity due to his work on Marvel Comics' ''New Mutants, The New Mutants'' and later ''X-Force''. In 1992, he and several other popular Marvel illustrators left the company to found Image Comics, which started a wave of comic books owned by their creators rather than by publishers. Louise Simonson
Louise Simonson (née Mary Louise Alexander; born September 26, 1946) is an American comic book writer and editor. She is best known for her work on comic book titles such as ''Conan the Barbarian'', '' Power Pack'', ''X-Factor'', ''New Mutants'', '' Superman: The Man of Steel'', and ''Steel''. She is often referred to by the nickname "Weezie". Among the comic characters she co-created are Cable, Steel, Power Pack, Rictor, Doomsday and the X-Men villain Apocalypse.
