The New Adventures Of Wisely
''The New Adventures of Wisely'' is a Singaporean adventure-science fiction television series adapted from the novel series ''Wisely Series'' by Ni Kuang. It was directed by Daisy Chan and starred Hong Kong actor Michael Tao as Wisely (or Wei Si Li), the main character. The series was first aired on Television Corporation of Singapore Channel 8 (now MediaCorp Channel 8) in Singapore in 1998. Plot The 30 episodes long series is divided into six segments, each involving a mystery case that Wisely has to solve. ;''Shadow'' (影子) Uncle Cai is accused of murdering a man who claimed that his shadow was after his life. Wisely investigates the mystery and learns that the shadow is the ghost of a man who committed suicide by throwing himself into a charcoal kiln. Once the shadow attaches himself to someone, he can control the person's movements and make him/her do things against his/her will. Bernard Tan (actor)
Bernard Tan Tiong Gie (born 1943 in Singapore) was educated at the Anglo-Chinese School, Singapore, the University of Singapore (Bachelor of Science with Honours in Physics, 1965) and Oxford University (Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering Science, 1968). Waise Lee Chi-hung (born 19 December 1959) is a Hong Kong film and television actor best known for playing the roles of villains and antagonists in various films. Sam Hui
Samuel Hui Koon-kit (born 6 September 1948), usually known as Sam Hui, is a Hong Kong musician, singer, songwriter and actor. He is credited with popularising Cantopop both via the infusion of Western-style music and his usage of vernacular Cantonese rather than written vernacular Chinese in biting lyrics that addressed contemporary problems and concerns. ''The Legend of Wisely'' ( zh, t=衛斯理傳奇 or ; released in the Philippines as ''Fighters of the Empire'') is a 1987 Hong Kong fantasy adventure film directed by Teddy Robin based on Ni Kuang's novel series, '' Wisely Series'', starring Samuel Hui as the titular protagonist. The film co-stars Ti Lung, Joey Wong and Robin himself. ''The Seventh Curse'' is a 1986 Hong Kong adventure film directed by Lam Ngai Kai based on Ni Kuang's novel series ''Dr. Yuen Series'' and stars Chin Siu-ho as Dr. Yuen. Mak Ho Wai
Mak Ho Wai (; 7 January 1946 – 14 April 2022) was a Hong Kong / Singaporean television artiste with TVB and then Mediacorp. Early life and education Mak studied at the National Taiwan Ocean University, receiving a bachelor's degree in electronic engineering. He later earned a master's degree in Chinese language studies at the Beijing Normal University at the age of 60. Career After graduating from National Taiwan Ocean University, Mak was a radio DJ in Taiwan a period of time. Having spent ten years in Taiwan, he was proficient in speaking standard Mandarin.
