Curve (band)
Curve were an English alternative rock and electronic music duo from London, formed in 1990 and split in 2005. The band consisted of Toni Halliday (vocals, occasionally guitar) and Dean Garcia (bass, guitar, drums, programming). Halliday wrote the lyrics of their songs and they both contributed to songwriting. Producer Alan Moulder was a prominent collaborator who helped shape their blend of heavy beats and densely–layered guitar tracks set against Halliday's vocals. FatLip Recordings
FatLip Recordings was an independent record label owned, operated and releasing music by the band Curve. History The label was only active when Curve wished to release music independently. It was first used in 1996. Curve had recently reunited, having been split up for two years, and were without a record label, as their previous deal with Anxious Records had expired. They therefore self-released the ' Pink Girl With the Blues' single on their own FatLip Recordings label. The label became dormant when the band signed with Universal Records. Curve's relationship with Universal was strained, with the situation becoming untenable after Universal refused to release Curve's latest album, ''Gift'', in 2000. Curve were completed their contract with Universal in early 2001 without ''Gift'' being released. Gift (Curve Album)
''Gift'' is the fourth studio album to be released by the British band Curve. Following two years of legal wrangles between the group and their then record company, Universal Records, the online success of Curve's self-released album '' Open Day at the Hate Fest'' convinced Universal - who had been threatening to shelve the album completely - to market it in the United States in 2001 under the Hip-O Records brand. The UK version was released a year later by FatLip Recordings in collaboration with Artful Records. A year after that, the album was released in Australia by Hoop Culture Records. The album was co-produced by Ben Grosse and Curve. Apart from Curve mainstays Dean Garcia and Toni Halliday, additional musicians who contributed to the album were Kevin Shields, Steve Monti, Alan Moulder, Flood, Rob Holliday, Geno Lenardo, Ben Grosse and Alan Wilder. The Way Of Curve
''The Way of Curve'' is a compilation album by Curve. The album consists of two discs: the first is basically a greatest hits disc, containing many of Curve's most famous and successful songs; the second contains rare tracks, including one ('In Disguise') that had never been released. The band invited fans to contribute their personal lists of tracks that should appear on the first disc and this was used to help decide the final listing. Those who contributed are name checked on the album sleeve. All tracks were remastered for the release, though some of the tracks (such as "Die Like A Dog") had errors. Only 10,000 copies of the album were made and it is now out-of-print, though it can be partially downloaded from iTunes or bought and fully downloaded on thband's official Bandcamp As Curve disbanded shortly after the album's release, ''The Way of Curve'' effectively became their career retrospective.
