The Music Show (Ireland)
The Music Show was an annual event which took place in the RDS, Dublin on the first weekend of October each year. The event combined live performances, music workshops and talks given by professionals within the music industry. It had several high-profile sponsors, including ''Hot Press'', RTÉ 2fm, the '' Irish Independent'' and the '' Sunday Independent''. RTÉ 2fm provided live radio coverage of the event. The 2009 event was the largest music event ever staged in Ireland. History 2008 event The 2008 event took place on 4–5 October. There were performances throughout the weekend from The Blizzards, The Coronas, Cathy Davey, Damien Dempsey, Ham Sandwich, Dispatches, Declan O'Rourke, Fionn Regan and Republic of Loose. Mike Terrana
Mike Terrana (born January 21, 1960) is an American hard rock and heavy metal drummer. His first professional work was in 1984 with the MCA band Hanover Fist from Toronto, Canada, after which he recorded and toured with other bands, playing many styles of music in western New York state. Between 1987 and 1997, he was based in Los Angeles and worked with various virtuoso guitarists, including Yngwie Malmsteen, Tony Macalpine, and Steve Lukather, and bands like Kuni and Beau Nasty. In 1997, Terrana moved to Europe, first in the Netherlands for six months and then Germany. He worked with German bands and artists such as Rage, Gamma Ray, Savage Circus, Axel Rudi Pell, Roland Grapow, and Masterplan. In 2016, Terrana joined Italian heavy metal band Vision Divine. The Script
The Script are an Irish rock band formed in 2001 in Dublin, consisting of lead vocalist and keyboardist Danny O'Donoghue, lead guitarist Mark Sheehan, and drummer Glen Power. The band moved to London after signing to Sony Label Group imprint Phonogenic and released their eponymous debut album in August 2008, preceded by the debut single "We Cry" as well as other singles such as "The Man Who Can't Be Moved", "Breakeven" and "Before the Worst". Michael Tierney, better known as Mick Pyro, is an Irish musician. He is best known as the frontman of the Dublin funk rock band Republic of Loose. He has also participated in other independent work with fellow Irish and international musicians and performed a duet with Sinéad O'Connor at the 2008 Meteor Awards where she revealed her admiration for his vocals. Dave Odlum
David Odlum is an Irish music producer, engineer, guitarist, and drummer who has worked and played with Academy Award winners and Mercury Prize nominees. Originally a member of Kíla, a band which was founded during his schooldays at Coláiste Eoin, he left them and joined rock group The Frames, fronted by the Academy Award-winner Glen Hansard, and with whom he played guitar from 1990 until 2002. Since leaving the band, he has pursued a career as a music producer. Sharon Helga Corr MBE (born 24 March 1970) is an Irish singer-songwriter, musician, and television personality. She is best known as a member of the pop-rock band The Corrs, which she co-founded in 1990 with her elder brother Jim and younger sisters Caroline and Andrea. She plays the violin, piano and guitar, and sings backing vocals. She began learning the violin when she was six years old. The Stables (band)
The Stables (also known as the Stables Theatre) is a music venue situated in Wavendon, a small village in south-east Milton Keynes. The Stables hosts over 400 concerts and around 250 education events a year including the National Youth Music Camps which take place over the summer. History The Stables was founded by John Dankworth and Cleo Laine in 1970 in the former stables block in the grounds of their home. It was an immediate success with 47 concerts given in the first year. It now presents over 400 concerts and around 250 education events in its two spaces: the 400 seat Jim Marshall Auditorium and Stage 2, the 80-seat studio space. Mullingar
Mullingar ( ; ) is the county town of County Westmeath in Ireland. It is the third most populous town in the Midland Region, with a population of 20,928 in the 2016 census.
