The Mooseman
''The Mooseman'' is an adventure video game developed by the Perm-based Russian studio Morteshka and released in 2017. The game is based on the mythology of Komi, as well as other Finno-Ugric peoples, and is an attempt at artistic reconstruction of mythological plots. The game tells the story of the Mooseman, the shaman and one of the seven sons of the creator god , who must travel to the underworld to retrieve (the sun) and save the world from the eternal cold. ''The Mooseman'' was well received by the gaming press. It was praised for its distinctive and atmospheric art style, sound design, skillful use of the mythology in the story, but criticized for its short length. Permian Bronze Casts
Permian bronze casts – Permic and Western Siberian animal style cult cast figurines – were the predominant form of Finnic toreutics of the 3rd–12th centuries CE. It was spread throughout a large area of forests of the north-eastern Urals and western Siberia from the basins of the Kama and Vyatka to the Ob. In the Middle Ages, these territories were inhabited mostly by the Ugrian tribes, ancestors of the present day Hungarians and Ob-Ugrians – the Khanty and the Mansi people. Their style is referred to as the "Permian animal style". The first collections of these works of arts and their scholarly research date back to the end of the 19th century. Theodor Kittelsen
Theodor Severin Kittelsen (27 April 1857 – 21 January 1914) was a Norwegian artist. He is one of the most popular artists in Norway. Kittelsen became famous for his nature paintings, as well as for his illustrations of fairy tales and legends, especially of trolls. Early life Kittelsen was born in the coastal town of Kragerø in Grenland, Norway. His father died when he was young, leaving a wife and eight children in difficult circumstances. Theodor was only 11 years old when he was apprenticed to a watchmaker. When at the age of 17 his talent was discovered by Diderich Maria Aall, he became a pupil at Wilhelm von Hannos drawing school in Christiania (now Oslo). Because of generous financial support by Aall he later studied in Munich. However, in 1879 Diderich Aall could no longer manage to support him, so Kittelsen had to earn his money as a draftsman for German newspapers and magazines. Endless runner or infinite runner is a subgenre of platform game in which the player character runs for an infinite amount of time while avoiding obstacles. The player's objective is to reach a high score by surviving for as long as possible. The method by which the game level or environment appears to continuously spawn before the player is an example of procedural generation. The genre exploded on mobile platforms following the success of ''Temple Run'', with ''Jetpack Joyride'' and '' Canabalt'' being other popular examples. Tanki X was an arcade vehicular combat massively multiplayer online video game. It was created on the Unity engine by , an independent Russia-based game development company. The game used the free-to-play business model, where players could download and play the game for free. However, players could also pay real-world money in the form of micro transactions to get "X Crystals". These X Crystals unlocked special cosmetic features for tanks and blueprint containers which could unlock and upgrade modules. The open beta testing started on September 15, 2016 and the full game was released on Steam on April 20, 2017. The game was shut down at the end of 2019.
