''The Minutes'' are a three-piece rock band from Dublin, Ireland consisting of Mark Austin, Tom Cosgrave & Shane Kinsella. Début album '' Marcata'' was released on 20 May 2011 in Ireland. History (2006 - present) The Minutes were formed in 2006 in Dublin, Ireland. Some of the band members previously played together under the name Stars of the City. After several years of performing live in Dublin, the band recorded their debut album in October 2009 at Marcata Recordings in Upstate New York. Together with producer Kevin McMahon, the band recorded a ten-track album that replicated the highlights of their live performances, including "Secret History", "Believer" and "In my Time of Dying". On 3 March 2011, The Minutes appeared on '' Other Voices'' on RTÉ Two television in Ireland performing two of their songs off their debut album. Geneviève Alison Jane Ballard ( ; born 18 June 1961) is an English singer noted for her powerful bluesy contralto voice. She came to prominence as half of the duo Yazoo (also known as Yaz), but has since mainly worked as a solo artist. Paul McLoone
Paul Martin McLoone (born 11 February 1967) is an Irish musician, former radio producer, voice actor, voice-over artist and radio presenter from Derry, Northern Ireland. He is perhaps best known for being the co-creator and co-writer of the Irish comedy sketch series ''Gift Grub''. He is also the lead vocalist/frontman of the Northern Irish pop-punk/new-wave band The Undertones, permanently replacing Feargal Sharkey when the band reunited for a series of live appearances in November 1999. The Parlotones
The Parlotones are a South African indie rock band from Johannesburg. The Von Bondies
The Von Bondies are an American alternative rock band formed in 1997. The original line-up formed at the 1997 Cramps/Guitar Wolf show by Jason Stollsteimer and Marcie Bolen. They went through a variety of member changes and band names, including The Baby Killers, before settling on The Von Bondies in 2000. Don Blum joined the band around 1999 after attending numerous Baby Killers shows, while Lauren Wilcox was picked via an audition. The Von Bondies got their break by playing a New Year's Eve show in Detroit, Michigan, in 2000. In attendance at the show was Long Gone John, owner of the Sympathy for the Record Industry label. The Pigeon Detectives are an English indie rock band from Rothwell in Leeds, West Yorkshire, who formed in 2004. The band have released five albums from 2007 to present.
