The Mighty Wallop!
The Mighty Wallop! was a short-lived band from Jamestown, New York formed by Dennis Drew, Steve Gustafson, and Jeff Erickson of the band 10,000 Maniacs in 2001. It was quickly a sextet, which included Ryan Seekings on drums, Stan Barton on fiddle, and another guitar player. Drew and Erickson recorded around 50 songs as demos, and the band played a handful of shows as a sextet through Summer, 2001, most notably the well-received performance at The Great Blue Heron Music Festival in 2001. Shortly after that performance, the band restructured itself into a trio (Drew, Gustafson, and Erickson), performing occasionally through 2002. 10,000 Maniacs is an American alternative rock band that was founded in 1981. They have released nine studio albums, six EPs, and five live albums. Dennis Arnold Drew (born 8 August 1957) is the keyboardist for the American alternative rock band 10,000 Maniacs. He has been with the band since its inception in 1981 and is one of three founding members along with Steve Gustafson and John Lombardo in the current band lineup. Steve Gustafson
Steven E. "Steve" Gustafson (born April 10, 1957) is the bass guitarist for the American alternative rock band 10,000 Maniacs. He, Dennis Drew and John Lombardo are the only remaining founding members of the group. Drummer Jerome Augustyniak has been with the band since 1982. Singer Mary Ramsey has been working with the band since 1992 and has been the band's lead singer since 1994. Guitarist Jeff Erickson, former tech for Robert Buck, has been playing lead guitar with the band since 2001. The Great Blue Heron Music Festival
The Great Blue Heron Music Festival is an annual music festival held the first or second weekend of July in Sherman, New York, a small town in the Amish country side of Western New York, United States. The Great Blue Heron Music Festival, or simply Blue Heron, as it is known, draws several thousand visitors throughout the course of three days. The Blue Heron presents over 30 musicians and bands between the three stages at the venue. This album is the first to feature guitarist Jeff Erickson since he took over for Robert Buck following his death in 2000, and the first Maniacs album to feature Mary Ramsey without her longtime music partner, John Lombardo.
