Ross Bon was part of the Chicago music scene beginning in 1992 as a harmonica player and vocalist. He recorded with artists such as Willie “Big” Smith, Buddy Scott, Pinetop Perkins, Junior Wells, Dave Specter, James Cotton and Kim Wilson. In 1995, he joined with guitarist Gareth Best, bassist Jimmy Sutton, drummer Bob Carter, pianist Donny Nichilo and saxophonists Samuel Burckhardt and Jerry DeVivo to form the Mighty Blue Kings. They made their debut performance opening for the late Junior Wells at Buddy Guy's legends in Chicago; and followed up with a weekly residence at Chicago jazz club The Green Mill. Sony Records was a record label founded by R&B duo Ike & Tina Turner in 1963. It was not affiliated with Sony Group Corporation. Jump blues is an up-tempo style of blues, usually played by small groups and featuring horn instruments. It was popular in the 1940s and was a precursor of rhythm and blues and rock and roll. Origins Jump blues evolved from the music of big bands such as those of Lionel Hampton and Lucky Millinder in the early 1940s which produced musicians such as Louis Jordan, Jack McVea, Earl Bostic, and Arnett Cobb. Jordan was the most popular of the jump blues stars; other artists who played the genre include Roy Brown, Amos Milburn, and Joe Liggins, as well as sax soloists Jack McVea, Big Jay McNeely, and Bull Moose Jackson. ''Come One, Come All'' is the second album by the American band Mighty Blue Kings, released in 1997. The album peaked at No. 10 on ''Billboards Top Blues Albums chart. The band supported the album by touring with the Reverend Horton Heat and Face to Face. Production The album was produced by the band. It includes covers of songs by Louis Jordan, Joe Liggins, and Percy Mayfield, among others. Six of the 12 tracks are originals by the band. Mighty Blue Kings dropped two members prior to the recording sessions for the album. Critical reception ''The Washington Post'' wrote that "the blues ballads suffer by comparison—seasoning counts for something, after all—but even the album's weakest tracks attest to the band's obvious devotion and good taste."
