The album was the first to be released under the name "Thee Oh Sees", after the band had previously been known as "OCS", "The Ohsees", and "The Oh Sees". It is their seventh studio album overall. Osees are an American rock band formed in San Francisco, California in 1997, now based in Los Angeles, California. David Andrew Sitek (born September 6, 1972) is an American musician and record producer, known for his work with his band TV on the Radio. He has also worked with bands such as Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Liars, Foals, Celebration, Little Dragon, Beady Eye, and Weezer, and produced free jazz-influenced remixes of songs by artists such as Beck and Nine Inch Nails, and has contributed a solo track to the Red Hot Organization ''Dark Was the Night'' charity compilation. Burger Records was an American independent record label and record store in Fullerton, California, United States. The label was founded in 2007 by Sean Bohrman and Lee Rickard, members of the power pop band Thee Makeout Party. The record/video store, co-owned by Bohrman and Brian Flores, was opened in 2009. The Intelligence is an American rock band from Seattle, formed in 1999. Founded by multi-instrumentalist Lars Finberg ( A Frames, Thee Oh Sees), the band currently consists of Finberg, alongside Dave Hernandez (guitar), Drew Church (bass) and Kaanan Tupper (drums). To date, the band has released nine studio albums, two EPs and a number of singles, the latter often split with other artists. Biography The Intelligence was formed by Lars Finberg. Can (stylised as CAN) was a German experimental rock band formed in Cologne in 1968 by Holger Czukay (bass, tape editing), Irmin Schmidt (keyboards), Michael Karoli (guitar), and Jaki Liebezeit (drums). Malcolm Mooney
Malcolm Mooney (born 1944) is an American singer, poet, and artist, best known as the original vocalist for German krautrock band Can. Biography Mooney began singing in high school, and was a member of an a cappella vocal group known as the ''Six-Fifths''. He gained some fame as a sculptor in New York City, then moved to Germany where he became a friend of Irmin Schmidt and Holger Czukay, who were forming a band. Mooney joined as lead vocalist. The band was originally known as "Inner Space", but Mooney came up with "The Can", later shortened to Can. The Red Krayola (originally Red Crayola) is an American avant rock band from Houston, Texas formed in 1966 by the trio of singer/guitarist Mayo Thompson, drummer Frederick Barthelme, and bassist Steve Cunningham. The group were part of the 1960s Texas psychedelic music scene and were signed to independent record label International Artists, subsequently becoming labelmates with the 13th Floor Elevators. Their confrontational, experimental approach employed noise and free improvisation. The Red Crayola disbanded in the late 1960s, but were resurrected in the late 1970s when Thompson moved to England and found favor in the post-punk scene. ''Putrifiers II'' is the thirteenth studio album by the American garage rock band Thee Oh Sees (and the seventh released under the full Thee Oh Sees name), released on September 11, 2012, on In The Red Records. Background John Dwyer's previous band Yikes recorded a song called "Putrifiers" for their 2006 album ''Secrets to Superflipping''. This song had also had an influence on the Thee Oh Sees' "Ghost In The Trees" from 2008's ''The Master's Bedroom Is Worth Spending a Night In''. Similar to ''Dog Poison'' and ''Castlemania'', recording was primarily undertaken by John Dwyer. Brigid Dawson was the only other member of the band to appear on the album. "The Scarecrow" is a song by Pink Floyd on their 1967 debut album ''The Piper at the Gates of Dawn'', though it first appeared as the B-side of their second single "See Emily Play" (as "Scarecrow") two months before. It was written by Syd Barrett and recorded in March 1967. This song was one of several to be considered for the band's "best of" album, '' Echoes: The Best of Pink Floyd''.
