''The Man on Lincoln's Nose'' is a 2000 American short documentary film directed by Daniel Raim about Hollywood art director Robert F. Boyle. It was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary Short. The title is derived from the Alfred Hitchcock film ''North by Northwest'' (1959), which has a climactic scene of two characters dangling from the carving of Abraham Lincoln's face on Mount Rushmore. Albert Nozaki
Albert Nozaki (1 January 1912 – 16 November 2003) was a Japanese American art director who worked on various films for Paramount Pictures. He is perhaps best known for his memorable design of the Martian war machines from the 1953 film ''The War of the Worlds'' and for his Academy Award-nominated art direction on the 1956 Cecil B. DeMille epic, ''The Ten Commandments''. He retired in 1969 due to retinitis pigmentosa, which ultimately cost him his sight. Starting out at Paramount as a draftsman in the Paramount set-design department in 1934, he retired in 1969 as the studio's supervising art director for feature films. Harold Michelson
Harold Michelson (February 15, 1920 – March 1, 2007) was an American production designer and art director. In addition, he worked as an illustrator and/or storyboard artist on numerous films from the 1940s through the 1990s. Biography A native of New York City, Michelson worked with the Bureau of Engraving and Printing in Washington, D.C. after graduating from high school. He then served as a bombardier-navigator in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II, flying more than 40 missions over Germany. After the war, Michelson became an illustrator. He worked on agazines while attending the Art Students League of New York before moving on to Chicago and Los Angeles, where he illustrated movie posters. Henry Bumstead
Lloyd Henry "Bummy" Bumstead (March 17, 1915 – May 24, 2006) was an American cinematic art director and production designer. In a career that spanned nearly 70 years, Bumstead began as a draftsman in RKO Pictures' art department and later served as an art director or production designer on more than 90 feature films. He won Academy Awards for Best Art Direction for ''To Kill a Mockingbird'' (1962) and ''The Sting'' (1973). He was also nominated for Academy Awards for his work on ''Vertigo'' (1958) and ''Unforgiven'' (1992). After attending the University of Southern California, he began working at RKO Pictures in 1937. His career was interrupted by military service during World War II. He worked at Paramount Pictures in the 1940s and 1950s and at Universal Studios in the 1960s and 1970s.
