Lambert Hillyer
Lambert Harwood Hillyer (July 8, 1893 – July 5, 1969) was an American film director and screenwriter. Biography Lambert Harwood Hillyer was born July 8, 1893, in Tyner, Indiana. His mother was character actress Lydia Knott. A graduate of Drake University, Drake College, he worked as a newspaper reporter and an actor in vaudeville and stock theater. During World War I he began working in motion pictures and became a prolific director and screenwriter, working on many silent-era Westerns by William S. Hart, Buck Jones, Tom Mix and others. Often associated with producer Thomas H. Ince, Hillyer expanded into romantic melodramas and crime films in the 1920s. In 1936 he directed two chillers for Universal Studios, Universal, the science-fiction film ''The Invisible Ray (1936 film), The Invisible Ray'' and the cult horror film ''Dracula's Daughter''. Bob Reeves (actor)
Robert Reeves (January 28, 1892 – April 12, 1960) was an American Western movie actor. Early years Robert Jasper Reeves was born in Marlin, Texas, the son of George Patton Reeves and Frances Luella Garrett, in 1892. He attended Marlin High School and Texas A&M University. During World War I he served in the United States Army in the Coast Artillery in California, and was discharged in December, 1918. Career Reeves won championships in rodeo competition and worked as a stunt double for Universal before he became an actor. His film career began as early as 1919, when he starred in an 18-chapter serial, ''The Great Radium Mystery''. He appeared in a number of silent films and sixteen sound films. In 1921 he was teamed with Marion Aye in a series of 18 Cactus Features directed by Albert S. Rogell. Artie A. Ortego (February 9, 1890 – July 24, 1960) was an American actor. He appeared in more than 240 films between 1912 and 1955. Ortego portrayed cowboys, henchmen and American Indians in a large number of westerns and performed horse riding stunts. He was also a stunt double for Ramón Novarro in '' The Barbarian'' (1933), which is set in Cairo and also stars Myrna Loy.
