Colin Campbell (director)
James Colin Campbell (11 October 1859 – 26 August 1928) was a Scottish-born film director, actor and screenwriter. He directed more than 170 films between 1911 and 1924. He also wrote for 60 films between 1911 and 1922. He was born in Scotland, and died in Hollywood, California. Lee Shumway (March 4, 1884 – January 4, 1959), born Leonard Charles Shumway, was an American actor. He appeared in more than 400 films between 1909 and 1953. Goro Kino
Goro Kino (sometimes credited as Gordo Keeno) was a Japanese actor who worked in Hollywood during the silent era. Like many of his Japanese contemporaries, in Hollywood, he was often cast as a villain. Biography According to contemporaneous reports, Kino had already established a career for himself in Japan on the stage before moving to San Francisco to work in a stock company and eventually to Los Angeles to work in film. He was a founding member of the Japanese Photo Players' Association alongside performers like Sessue Hayakawa and Misao Seki. One of his biggest film roles was as Duck Sing in 1918's ''Little Red Decides''. He said of his "evil" look in ''The Lure of Jade'' that even he was afraid to look in the mirror, and that he scared the cameramen on set; however, he was regarded as one of the nicest people in the business in real life. Togo Yamamoto
was a pioneering actor who appeared on stage and film in the United States and Japan. Biography Born in Yokohama, Japan, on 4 November 1886, Togo emigrated to the United States and began an acting career in the early years of the 20th century. Yamamoto told Blanche Partington in a 1906 interview that he had been "in the dramatic business" in Japan, playing "tragedy, comedy, both" before coming to the United States. His first appearance on the American stage was in ''The White Tigress of Japan'' (1904), a play about the Russo-Japanese War. "I was Japanese spy—I killed half a dozen Russians every night!" he told Partington. Theatrical manager Kirke La Shelle spotted him in the production and hired him to play the part of a Japanese servant in ''The Heir to the Hoorah'' (1905).
