The Louisiana Hussy
''Louisiana Hussy'' is a 1959 American film directed by Lee Sholem. The film is also known as ''Louisiana Hussey'' (American alternative spelling). Plot summary Living in a small Louisiana Bayou community known as "The Pit", Cajun newlyweds Pierre and Lili must deal with family conflict compounded by the arrival in their lives of a mysterious seductress who calls herself "Minette" and claims to be fleeing from trouble. Not convinced she is being truthful, the couple find out that her real name is "Nina" and that she is impersonating a woman who had earlier committed suicide after having discovered that Nina was having an affair with her husband, Clay. Meanwhile, Pierre's brother Jacques, has fallen in love with Nina, to the disapproval of his family. Pierre and Lili track down Clay's whereabouts but are convinced by his butler not to reveal the location of Nina. Lee Tabor Sholem (May 25, 1913 in Paris, Illinois, – August 19, 2000 in Los Angeles, California) was an American television and film director. Nicknamed ""Roll 'Em" Sholem", he is identified more than anyone else in the film industry, industry with speed and efficiency. He directed more than 1300 productions, including both feature films and TV episodes, without ever going over schedule. His achievements over a 40-year career have, as yet, been unsurpassed in Cinema of the United States, Hollywood history. He worked as a model for a professional photographer and was a rodeo rider before moving into acting. Walter Greene (January 23, 1910 – December 23, 1983) was a film and television composer who worked on numerous productions for over 30 years. Career Born and raised in Tarkio, Missouri, Greene attended Tarkio College and the Horner Institute for Fine Arts. He toured with and arranged for big bands led by Orville Knapp, Freddy Martin, Horace Heidt, Wayne King, Xavier Cugat, and Harry James. Greene entered the world of film scoring as orchestrating for MGM, with his first films being ''Two-Faced Woman'' (1941) and Abbott and Costello's ''Lost in a Harem'' (1944). Smoki Whitfield
Smoki Whitfield (born Robert Whitfield, and sometimes credited as Jordan Whitfield) was an African American actor, comedian, and musician. Biography Smoki was born in Pittsburgh to John Whitfield and Effie Walker. He attended the University of Oregon, where he was a star athlete and made appearances in school plays. In the 1940s he began a career as a character actor in Hollywood. He appeared in a third of the 12 Bomba, the Jungle Boy films. Over the next few decades, he amassed more than 50 on-screen credits. In the 1950s, he worked as a manager and MC at a number of Hawaiian nightclubs. He later worked at the Top Banana Club in North Hollywood. Whitfield died in 1967 of a heart attack in North Hollywood after a lengthy illness. He was survived by his wife Eileen Jackson and two sons. She served as the "girl singer" for three of the most popular big bands of the Swing Era (Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman, and Harry James), thereby earning a reputation as "the voice of the name bands."
