The Long Road North
''The Long Road North'' is the eighth studio album by Swedish post-metal band Cult of Luna (their ninth if including '' Mariner'' (2016), their collaborative album with Julie Christmas). The album was released on 11 February 2022 through Metal Blade Records. It peaked at No. 14 on the German albums chart. Promotion To promote the album, on 1 December 2021, Cult of Luna released the song "Cold Burn" prior to the release of ''The Long Road North'', with a music video created using Unreal Engine, in collaboration with North Kingdom and Arctic Game Lab. The band also released the song "Into the Night" on 13 January 2022. In support of ''The Long Road North'', Cult of Luna have embarked on a 2022 tour through Europe in February and March, and will continue the tour in October. Cult Of Luna
Cult of Luna is a Swedish heavy metal band from Umeå founded in 1998. They are known for post-metal music similar to the contemporary bands Neurosis and Isis. The band was signed to Earache Records in the early 2000s and released five albums, including the commercially successful albums ''Salvation'' (2004) and ''Somewhere Along the Highway'' (2006). ''Kerrang!'' is a British weekly magazine devoted to rock, punk and heavy metal music, currently published by Wasted Talent (the same company that owns electronic music publication ''Mixmag''). Lyricon
The Lyricon is an electronic wind instrument, the first wind controller to be constructed. Invented by Bill Bernardi (and co-engineered by Roger Noble and with the late Lyricon performer Chuck GreenbergIngham (1998) p.184), filed for patent on October 5, 1971, by Computone Inc., patented under #US3767833 October 23, 1973 and then manufactured by Computone Inc. in Massachusetts in the early 1970s. Tubax
The tubax is a modified contrabass saxophone developed in 1999 by the German instrument maker Benedikt Eppelsheim. Although it has the same fingering as the saxophone, it has a narrower bore, smaller mouthpiece, and more compactly folded tubing. The tubax exists in E♭ contrabass and B♭ or C subcontrabass sizes. Its name is a portmanteau of the words "tuba" and "sax". History The first size of tubax to be developed was the E♭ tubax. It first appeared in 1998, and was intended as a more practical alternative to the somewhat unwieldy contrabass saxophone. Colin Stetson (born March 3, 1975) is a Canadian-American saxophonist, multireedist, and composer based in Montreal. He is best known as a regular collaborator of the indie rock acts Arcade Fire, Bon Iver, Bell Orchestre, and Ex Eye. In addition to saxophone, he plays clarinet, bass clarinet, French horn, flute, and cornet. Mariam Karolina Riahi Wallentin (born 28 July 1982 in Örebro, Sweden) is a Swedish musician (vocals, percussion, composer) and voice actress. Mark Lanegan
Mark William Lanegan (November 25, 1964 – February 22, 2022) was an American singer, songwriter, and poet. First becoming prominent as the lead singer for the early grunge band Screaming Trees, he was also known as a member of Queens of the Stone Age and The Gutter Twins.
