Louis King
Louis King (June 28, 1898 – September 7, 1962) was an American actor and film director of westerns and adventure movies in the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s. Citwf.com; accessed July 23, 2015. Biography King was born in Christiansburg, Virginia. His name was also written as L.H. King and Lewis King. A brother of director Henry King (director), Henry King, he entered the film business in 1919 as a character actor. He specialized in villains and blusterers. He appeared in more than 170 films between 1914 and 1952, often as a villain or henchman in Westerns, and was sometimes credited as Jim Mason. Clifford William Lyons (1 July 1901 - 6 January 1974) was an American film actor, stuntman and second unit director, primarily of Westerns and particularly the films of John Ford and John Wayne. His Hollywood contemporaries were unanimous in describing him as “a driven taskmaster”. Biography Lyons, the son of Garrett Thomas Lyons and Wilhamena Johnson Lyons, was raised on a South Dakota farm, though his family lived for a time in Memphis, Tennessee, where he attended business school. An expert horseman, Lyons gave up the notion of a business career and opted for the rodeo arena instead, touring nationwide and eventually reaching Los Angeles at the age of 21. Accomplished cowboys were in great demand for western films, and Lyons found a home in that genre, working both as a stuntman and an actor. Charles Le Moyne (June 27, 1880 – September 13, 1956) was an American motion picture actor of the silent era. He appeared in 73 films between 1915 and 1937. Biography He was born Carl Jonathan Lemon at Marshall, Illinois, on June 27, 1880, the son of Charles and Clara (née Martin) Lemon. Charles Lemon was a stonemason who later moved his family to Los Angeles where he worked as a railroad conductor. Le Moyne was a favorite of actor/director Harry Carey, who once said that if Le Moyne was ever not available to play the heavy in one of his films, he would rather postpone production until the actor became free.
