The Lockdown Sessions (Roger Waters EP)
''The Lockdown Sessions'' is an album by British musician Roger Waters, released on 9 December 2022 by Legacy Recordings. It compiles home recordings he made during lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, later remastered for this release. The songs were previously performed in these versions during the encore of his Us + Them Tour. The album also features " Comfortably Numb 2022", a new version of the song from ''The Wall'' which opens his This Is Not a Drill concerts, as the final song. This rendition differs from the original version in its absence of guitar solos and being performed in a slower tempo, like a dirge. Roger Waters
George Roger Waters (born 6 September 1943) is an English musician, singer-songwriter and composer. In 1965, he co-founded the progressive rock band Pink Floyd. Waters initially served as the bassist, but following the departure of singer-songwriter Syd Barrett in 1968, he also became their lyricist, co-lead vocalist and conceptual leader until his departure in 1983. The Gunner's Dream
"The Gunner's Dream" is a song from Pink Floyd's 1983 album '' The Final Cut''. This song was one of several to be considered for the band's "best of" album, '' Echoes: The Best of Pink Floyd''. The song tells the story and thoughts of an airman gunner as he falls to his death during a raid, dreaming of a safe world in the future, without war. It is one of the four songs on the video version of the album ''The Final Cut'' Video EP. In his lyrics, Waters references real-life events including the then very recent Hyde Park and Regent's Park bombings, and takes the refrain "some corner of a foreign field" from Rupert Brooke's poem '' The Soldier''. Ian Ritchie is an English composer, record producer, arranger and saxophonist. He was the producer of Roger Waters' album ''Radio K.A.O.S.'', along with other recordings with Laurie Anderson (''Strange Angels''), Pete Wylie (''Sinful''), Hugh Cornwell (''Wolf'') and the Big Dish (''Swimmer''). David Kilminster (born 25 January 1962) is a British guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, producer and music teacher, who has toured as a sideman to several prestigious musicians, including progressive rock artists Steven Wilson and Roger Waters. Jon Joseph Waronker (born May 20, 1969) is an American drummer and music producer. He is best known as a regular drummer of both Beck and R.E.M., and as member of the experimental rock bands Atoms for Peace and Ultraísta.
