The Limited Mail
''The Limited Mail'' is a 1925 American silent drama film directed by George Hill and written by Charles Logue and Darryl F. Zanuck. The film stars Monte Blue, Vera Reynolds, Willard Louis, Tom Gallery, Jack Huff, and Eddie Gribbon. The film was released by Warner Bros. on September 5, 1925. Plot As described in a film magazine reviews, Bob Wilson becomes a tramp after his fiancée jilts him, but is influenced for good by Jim Fowler, a railway mail clerk. Bob gets employment with the railroad that employs Jim and works his way up to the post of engine driver. Both men fall in love with Caroline Dale, a waitress at the railroad hotel, but the young woman loves only Bob. Bob’s former fiancée accidentally finds him and leaves her husband to be with him. George Hill (director)
George William Hill (April 25, 1895 – August 10, 1934) was an American film director and cinematographer. Career He began his film career at age 13 as a stagehand with director D. W. Griffith. A cinematographer of silent films known for his skill in lighting female stars, he worked on a series of independently produced features for Mae Marsh and others in the years following World War I and was eventually recruited by the burgeoning major studios to be a director, beginning in 1920. Hill directed ''The Midnight Express (film), The Midnight Express'' (1924), which the ''New York Times'' noted was "a far better production than one is apt to gather from the title" and also that "the story is unfolded with skill and imagination." Otis Harlan
Otis Harlan (December 29, 1865 – January 21, 1940) was an American actor and comedian. He voiced Happy, one of the Seven Dwarfs in the Disney animated film ''Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs''. Early years Harlan was born in Zanesville, Ohio in 1865. He married Nellie Harvey and had a daughter named Marion. Harlan was the uncle of the silent film era leading man, Kenneth Harlan. Career In 1893, he appeared in Victor Herbert's ''The Magic Knight''. He was playing in vaudeville shows by 1911, appearing in Irving Berlin's ragtime musicals.
