''The Lights from the Chemical Plant'' is the third studio album by Nashville-based singer-songwriter Robert Ellis. It was released in February 2014 under New West Records. Ellis recorded the album in Eric Masse's East Nashville studio the Casino under the direction of producer Jacquire King. Ellis has said ''The Lights from the Chemical Plant'', inspired by his hometown Lake Jackson, Texas, is more "stylistically ambiguous" than his previous albums incorporating elements of R&B, bossa nova, fusion and free jazz. Robert Ellis (born November 6, 1988) is an American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based in Fort Worth, Texas, United States, who blends country, pop music and jazz. History Robert Ellis was born on November 6, 1988 in Lake Jackson, Texas, United States. He began performing as "Eyes Like Lions" early in 2005, playing in his hometown of Lake Jackson, Texas. Jacquire King (born January 11, 1967) is an American record producer, recording engineer and mixer. King has worked with such notable artists as Kings of Leon, Tom Waits, James Bay, Kaleo, Modest Mouse, Shania Twain, Buddy Guy, Norah Jones, Of Monsters and Men, Cold War Kids, Punch Brothers, City and Colour, Robert Ellis, Dawes and others. His work has received more than 35 Grammy Award nominations to date. Career King had his initial training in recording engineering at Recording Workshop in Chillicothe, Ohio. His first studio employment was in the Washington, D.C. area. In 1988, he moved to California and got a job at Different Fur Studios in San Francisco. Lake Jackson, Texas
Lake Jackson is a city in Brazoria County, Texas, United States, within the Greater Houston metropolitan area. As of the 2020 census, the city population was 28,177.
