The La’s
The La's were an English rock band from Liverpool, originally active from 1983 until 1992. Fronted by singer, songwriter and guitarist Lee Mavers, the group are best known for their hit single " There She Goes". The band was formed by Mike Badger in 1983 and Mavers joined the next year, although for most of the group's history, the frequently changing line-up revolved around the core duo of Lee Mavers (vocals, guitar) and John Power (bass, backing vocals) along with numerous other guitarists and drummers including Paul Hemmings, John "Timmo" Timson, Peter "Cammy" Cammell, Iain Templeton, John "Boo" Byrne, Chris Sharrock, Barry Sutton and Neil Mavers. After the departure of Badger in late 1986, the band signed to Go! Discs in 1987 and started recording their debut album. Lee Mavers
Lee Anthony Mavers (born 2 August 1962) is an English musician. Mavers was the songwriter, singer and rhythm guitarist in The La's and is best known for the song " There She Goes" from October 1988. Mavers was originally the bassist for the Liverpool group Neuklon circa 1980 to 1984. Mavers is a passionate supporter of Everton Football Club and regularly attends Goodison Park. He is a good friend of fellow musicians Liam Gallagher, Pete Doherty, Johnny Marr,Paul Weller and Noel Gallagher. He is the older brother of actor Gary Mavers and Neil Mavers who was the drummer for The La's. The La's Mavers gained a reputation for perfectionism and eccentricity. Obsessing over the group's troubled recording efforts between 1987 and 1992, Mavers eventually retreated back to his Liverpool home after the release of the La's' eponymous debut album, his perception of the music industry soured by the fact the release was not a version of the album he wished to be made public. Paul Hemmings
Paul Jeremy Hemmings is an English musician and photographer. Hemmings is a supporter of Everton F.C Career He played with The La's, Mike Badger and The Onset and Ian Broudie and the Lightning Seeds. He is also a partner in Liverpool's independent Viper Label. Hemmings' current project is called The Floatation Project. Skiffle
Skiffle is a genre of folk music with influences from American folk music, blues, country, bluegrass, and jazz, generally performed with a mixture of manufactured and homemade or improvised instruments. Scouse

''The La's'' is the only studio album by English rock band the La's, released on 1 October 1990 by Go! Discs. It included " There She Goes", the group's biggest hit, and "Timeless Melody". A deluxe edition of ''The La's'' was released on 7 April 2008. In 2013, ''NME'' ranked ''The La's'' at number 153 on its list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. Release and reception ''The La's'' was released in 1990 on Go! Discs in the United Kingdom and in 1991 on London Records in the United States. The album was praised by critics and embraced by fans. It was the result of nearly three years in the studio with a string of acclaimed producers. Each attempted to capture the sound sought by Lee Mavers, the lead singer and principal songwriter of the band. "Timeless Melody" is a rock song written by Liverpool singer/guitarist Lee Mavers and recorded by Mavers' band The La's. "Way Out" is the debut single by The La's, released on 2 November 1987 after signing to Go! Discs Records. Music video The music video was made with a budget of 50 pounds. It was shot on a Super 8 Camera, with the production taking only half a day. "There She Goes" is a song by English rock band the La's, written by the band's frontman, Lee Mavers. The song reached number 13 on the UK Singles Chart when it was re-issued in 1990. In May 2007, ''NME'' magazine placed the song at number 45 in its list of the 50 Greatest Indie Anthems Ever.
