''Countdown to Devil'' is the first studio album by rock band Heaven Below. The album was released on February 11, 2009. Composition The Laughing Dead "The Laughing Dead", the tenth track on the album, was at one time, a candidate for the name of the band. Having a lyric mentioning "Heaven Below", the song helped the band decide on its current moniker. EMURG describes the song as one being "about enjoying every minute of life". Heaven Below is an American hard rock band based in Los Angeles. The band's debut album ''Countdown to Devil'' was released March 2009. History The band was formed in late 2007 by Patrick Kennison (Union Underground), Marty O'Brien (Disturbed, We Are the Fallen) and session drummer Chad Clark to film a video for Kennison's song "The Laughing Dead". Benjamin Robert Moody II (born January 22, 1981) is an American guitarist, songwriter and record producer. He is best known as co-founder, former guitarist and co-songwriter of rock band Evanescence from its inception in 1995 to his departure in October 2003 after the band's debut album, ''Fallen''. After leaving Evanescence, Moody co-wrote and co-produced songs for Kelly Clarkson, Avril Lavigne, Anastacia, Lindsay Lohan, Bo Bice, Daughtry, and Celine Dion. Composition “The Mirror Never Lies”, the fourth song on the album, is a charity single for Children Without A Voice. "Gravity Killed The Spaceman", the ninth song on the album, recognizes David Bowie's ''Space Oddity'' while "Major Tom" is a cover of Peter Schilling's 1980s hit single paired with an original framework from the ensemble. Patrick Kennison is an American rock musician. He co-founded The Union Underground who played on Ozzfest 2001 and released an album ''An Education in Rebellion'' which sold 350,000 copies. Union Underground broke up due to musical differences with Kennison forming a new band 3-Faced with Marty O'Brien.
