The Last Temptation Of Reid
''The Last Temptation of Reid'' is the debut studio album by Lard, released in 1990. The album includes a cover of "They're Coming To Take Me Away, Ha-Haaa!", originally performed by Napoleon XIV, with the addition of a guitar part and an extra verse (written by Jello Biafra) to the original song's setup. The album also includes the song "Forkboy" which was used on the ''Natural Born Killers'' soundtrack and covered by Flotsam and Jetsam (on their album, ''High'') and industrial rock act Black Light Burns. The vinyl LP version of the album does not include the track "I Am Your Clock", which was instead released as a separate 12" Single. The album's title is a reference to the Martin Scorsese film, '' The Last Temptation of Christ''. A movie poster for the film is included in the liner notes of the album, only with the name "Reid" pasted over "Christ" in the title. Lard (band)
Lard is an American hardcore punk/industrial band founded in 1988 as a side project by Jello Biafra (vocals; formerly of Dead Kennedys), Al Jourgensen (guitar; of Ministry), Paul Barker (bass; also of Ministry), and Jeff Ward (drums; once a Ministry touring member). Over the years, several other members of Ministry played with Lard, namely Bill Rieflin, Mike Scaccia, and Rey Washam. Like most of Biafra's work, Lard's songs are angrily political (the War on Drugs is a particularly common theme) but often have a tinge of humor. Lard has not officially toured and has only performed live a handful of times, mostly around the San Francisco area (where Jello lives and operates his Alternative Tentacles record label). Flotsam And Jetsam (band)
Flotsam and Jetsam is an American thrash metal band that was formed in Phoenix, Arizona, in 1981. Before settling on its current name in 1984, the band had existed under three different names, Paradox, Dredlox and Dogz. Their current lineup includes vocalist Eric "A.K" Knutson, guitarists Michael Gilbert and Steve Conley, bassist Bill Bodily, and drummer Ken Mary. Jeff Ward (November 18, 1962 – March 19, 1993) was an American musician, serving as a drummer for various rock bands including Skafish, Hammeron, Nine Inch Nails, Revolting Cocks, Ministry, Lard (Drums and Vocals), and Low Pop Suicide. He committed suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning in 1993.
