"The Last Song" is a song written by Brian Wilson and Joe Thomas and is the closing track of Wilson's 2015 album '' No Pier Pressure''. The song was originally planned to feature Lana Del Rey, though she eventually backed out, leaving Wilson to perform the song solo. Don Edward Fagenson (born September 13, 1952), known professionally as Don Was, is an American musician, record producer and record executive. Primarily a bass player, Was co-founded the funk-rock band Was (Not Was). In later years he produced songs and albums for many popular recording artists including, since 1994, The Rolling Stones.
