The Last Resort (album)
''The Last Resort'' is the debut album by the Danish electronic musician Trentemøller. It was released on 9 October 2006. The album debuted at #5 on the Danish Albums Chart. In Denmark, ''The Last Resort'' was certified platinum in October 2009 for sales over 30,000 copies, a rare feat for an electronic music album. It is also available in a Limited Edition which includes a bonus disc with some of Trentemøller's previous 12-inch singles. Reception Philip Sherburne of '' Pitchfork'' compared the album to Thom Yorke's '' The Eraser''. Resident Advisor—an online magazine with a focus on electronic music—named ''The Last Resort'' as the fifth best album of 2006. They also named it the 28th best album of the decade. The Danish newspaper '' Politiken'' gave the album 5 out of 6 stars, and named it the second best Danish album of 2006, dubbing him "the hero of techno". Anders Trentemøller (; born 16 October 1972) is a Danish indie/ electronic music composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist based in Copenhagen, Denmark. History Trentemøller started music in the late 1990s with different indie rock projects. In 2006, following a line of more electronic-orientated 12-inch EPs, Trentemøller released his debut album, '' The Last Resort''. In 2007 he assembled his first full live band, with Henrik Vibskov on drums and Mikael Simpson on guitar. Ultratop is an organization which generates and publishes the official record charts in Belgium. Ultratop is a non-profit organization, created on the initiative of the Belgian Entertainment Association (BEA), the Belgian member organization of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry. Two parallel sets of charts are concurrently produced and published, one on behalf of Belgium's mainly Dutch-speaking Flanders region, and the other catering to the nation's mainly French-speaking region of Wallonia. Techno
Techno is a genre of electronic dance music (EDM) which is generally produced for use in a continuous DJ set, with tempo often varying between 120 and 150 beats per minute (bpm). The central rhythm is typically in common time (4/4) and often characterized by a repetitive four on the floor beat. ''The Eraser'' is the debut solo album by the English musician Thom Yorke, released on 10 July 2006 through XL Recordings. Thomas Edward Yorke (born 7 October 1968) is an English musician and the main vocalist and songwriter of the rock band Radiohead.
