''The Last Outlaw'' is a 1980 Australian four-part television miniseries based on the life of Ned Kelly. It was shot from February to May 1980Ed. Scott Murray, ''Australia on the Small Screen 1970–1995'' (1996), p.210, Oxford University Press. and the end of its original broadcast, in October–November 1980, coincided with the centenary of Ned Kelly's death. Aaron Sherritt
Aaron Sherritt (August 1854 – 26 June 1880) was an associate of the gang of outlaws led by Ned Kelly in Victoria, Australia. Personal life Aaron Sherritt was born in the Melbourne suburb of Prahran in August 1854, to Irish migrants John and Agnes Ann (née Nesbitt) Sherritt. He was the eldest of 13 children. He grew up at Woolshed near Beechworth and was a childhood friend of Kelly gang member Joe Byrne. On 26 December 1879, Sherritt married fifteen-year-old Ellen "Belle" Barry. Bushranger Films
Bushrangers were originally escaped convicts in the early years of the British settlement of Australia who used the bush as a refuge to hide from the authorities. By the 1820s, the term had evolved to refer to those who took up "robbery under arms" as a way of life, using the bush as their base. Bushranging thrived during the gold rush years of the 1850s and 1860s when the likes of Ben Hall, Bluecap, and Captain Thunderbolt roamed the country districts of New South Wales. These " Wild Colonial Boys", mostly Australian-born sons of convicts, were roughly analogous to British "highwaymen" and outlaws of the American Old West, and their crimes typically included robbing small-town banks and coach services. Tim Eliott
Timothy James Gordon Eliott (25 March 1935 – 22 April 2011) was a New Zealand actor. Biography Eliott was born in Eltham, South Taranaki, New Zealand on 25 March 1935. His mother died when he was one and he was brought up by aunts and grandparents until he joined his father in England after the war where he went to public schools in Bath and Bristol. He returned to New Zealand in 1950. He became an actor by accident when in 1955 he accompanied a colleague to auditions for Nola Millar's production of Richard II with the Thespians company and ended up being cast as Bolingbroke in which he was very well received. He went on to appear as Worthy in '' Virtue in Danger'' for the New Zealand Players and Jimmy Porter in ''Look Back in Anger'' for Unity Theatre as well as appearing in radio drama and commercials.
