The Last Farm
''The Last Farm'' (Icelandic title ''Síðasti bærinn'') is a 2004 Icelandic short film. It was directed by Rúnar Rúnarsson, and stars Icelandic actor Jón Sigurbjörnsson. The film was scored by Kjartan Sveinsson, a keyboardist for the band Sigur Rós. It was shot at an abandoned farm in the Westfjords in Iceland which can be visited easily. In fact, a different tragedy happened in this house and was, people say, thus the inspiration for this film. It was nominated for the 2005 Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film. Plot His daughter Lilja has decided that her father, the farmer Hrafn, and his wife Gróa, should move into a home for the elderly. Both Lilja and the delivery man Jón have been led to believe that Hrafn has been working to close up his remote farmhouse. Ólafía Hrönn Jónsdóttir (born 7 December 1962) is an Icelandic actress. She is known for her role as Freyja in '' Trapped''. Early life Ólafía was born in Reykjavík, Iceland in 1962. Kjartan "Kjarri" Sveinsson (; born 2 January 1978) is the keyboardist for the Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Rós. He joined the band in 1998. A multi-instrumentalist, he has also played such instruments as the flute, tin whistle, oboe, guitar and the banjo, as well as many of the unorthodox instruments that contribute to Sigur Rós's distinctive sound. Kjartan has performed under the pseudonym "The Lonesome Traveller" with Sigur Rós bandmate Orri Páll Dýrason and Amiina violinist María Huld Markan Sigfúsdóttir (whom Kjartan married in 2001).
