The Kiss (1974 Film)
''The Kiss'' or ''The Kiss of Death'' (Italian: ''Il bacio'') is a 1974 Italian historical drama film directed by Mario Lanfranchi and starring Maurizio Bonuglia, Eleonora Giorgi and Martine Beswick.Curti p.113 The film's sets were designed by the art director Giancarlo Bartolini Salimbeni. Mario Lanfranchi
Mario Lanfranchi (30 June 1927 – 3 January 2022) was an Italian film, theatre, and television director, screenwriter, producer, collector, and actor. Career Lanfranchi was born in Parma. After receiving a degree at the Drama Academy ( Accademia dei Filodrammatici) of Milan in the early 1950s, he was hired by Sergio Pugliese at RAI, at the onset of Italian television. He was the first to bring opera to the small screen, in 1956, with '' Madama Butterfly'', by Giacomo Puccini, which introduced to a wide public Anna Moffo, at that time an unknown American soprano, who became his wife for 17 years. In 1967 he began his career as a film director with the western movie ''Death Sentence''. He lived in a 16th-century villa in Santa Maria del Piano outside Parma (). Lanfranchi died in Langhirano, near Parma, on 3 January 2022, at the age of 94. Massimo Girotti
Massimo Girotti (18 May 1918 – 5 January 2003) was an Italian film actor whose career spanned seven decades. Born in Mogliano, in the province of Macerata, Girotti developed his athletic physique by swimming and playing polo. While studying engineering, he attracted the attention of Mario Soldati, who offered him a small part in the film '' Dora Nelson'' (1939), but it was not until later, in Alessandro Blasetti's '' La corona di ferro'' (''The Iron Crown'') (1941) and Roberto Rossellini's '' Un Pilota ritorna'' (''A Pilot Returns'') (1942), that he began to make an impression as a serious actor. In 1943 came a turning point in his career when Luchino Visconti cast him opposite the torrid Clara Calamai in ''Ossessione'' (''Obsession''), an earlier adaptation of the same novel on which Hollywood's '' The Postman Always Rings Twice'' is based. Gianni Cavina (9 December 1940 – 26 March 2022) was an Italian film actor. He appeared in more than 40 films from 1968 to 2022. Born in Bologna, Cavina trained as a stage actor at the Teatro Stabile di Bologna, under the direction of Franco Parenti. He made his film debut in the 1968 horror ''Balsamus, l'uomo di Satana'', directed by Pupi Avati, with whom he had a long collaboration, starring in many of his films.
