The Kills
The Kills are an English-American rock duo formed by American singer Alison "VV" Mosshart and English guitarist Jamie "Hotel" Hince. They are signed to Domino Records. Their first four albums, '' Keep On Your Mean Side'', '' No Wow'', ''Midnight Boom'', and '' Blood Pressures'', all reached the UK album chart. Their fifth and most recent studio album, ''Ash & Ice'', was released in 2016 and reached the UK Top 20 album chart. Career Discount Mosshart and Hince both played in other bands before they formed The Kills in 2001. Mosshart was previously the vocalist of punk rock band Discount, while Hince featured in rock bands such as Scarfo and Blyth Power. Mosshart encountered Hince when her band was touring England, where Hince was "staying in the flat upstairs from where hewas staying" in London. ''The Kills'' is a novel by Richard House, published in 2013. It was longlisted for the Man Booker Prize for Fiction in 2013 Man Booker Prize, House's first nomination. Linda Fairstein
Linda Fairstein (born May 5, 1947) is an American author, attorney, and former New York City prosecutor focusing on crimes of violence against women and children. She was the head of the sex crimes unit of the Manhattan District Attorney's office from 1976 until 2002. During that time, she oversaw the prosecution of the Central Park Five case, wherein five teenagers, four African-American and one Hispanic, were wrongfully convicted for the 1989 rape and assault in Central Park of a white female jogger. All five convictions were vacated in 2002 after Matias Reyes, a convicted serial rapist and murderer, confessed to having been the sole perpetrator of the crime, and DNA testing showed he was the sole contributor of the DNA of the semen on the victim. After Reyes' confession in 2002, Fairstein still maintained that the wrongfully convicted teenage boys were guilty and she lauded the police investigation as "brilliant". Kills (mixtape)
''Kills'' is a mixtape by jj, released on Christmas Eve 2010. Background The mixtape was first mentioned by Elin from jj in a video interview for Swedish National Television while on tour in Europe. The title for the mixtape was though never revealed. First when the lead single from the mixtape, "Let Them", was released on October 12, the title of the mixtape was revealed to be ''Kills'' (also ''jj kills'' or ''jj fucking kills''). Being a mixtape, ''Kills'' was released completely for free, as a direct download, at Sincerely Yours website on Christmas Eve 2010. After just three days since being released, ''Kills'' had been downloaded more than 30,000 times, a number generated from only two of the several file hosting services. After one week of release, the number had increased to over 42,000 downloads, and as of January 21, 2011, ''Kills'' had been downloaded over 80,000 times from these two links alone.
