The Killers (1971 Film)
''The Killers'' (Egyptian Arabic: ''القتلة'', ''translit: El-Qatala'' or ''Al-Qatala'') is a 1971 Egyptian crime thriller starring Salah Zulfikar and Nahed Sherif. The film is written by Mahmoud Abu Zeid and directed by Ashraf Fahmy. Synopsis Adel Shawkat has a firm belief that his stepfather killed his father to marry his mother. He makes a strange deal with the unemployed Aziz Abu El Ezz, who wants to get rid of his wife Sawsan, to cash her life insurance policy. Adel pledges to kill Aziz's wife in return for Aziz killing his stepfather. Ashraf Fahmy
Ashraf Fahmy (Arabic: أشرف فهمي 25 August 1936 – 25 January 2001) was an Egyptian film director, active in the Egyptian film industry since the late 1960s. He was credited with launching his career and directing his first feature film (The Killers – '' Arabic: القتلة'') starring the leading film star Salah Zulfikar making huge commercial success. Salah El Din Ahmed Mourad Zulfikar ( ar, صلاح ذو الفقار; ; 18 January 1926 – 22 December 1993) was an Egyptian actor and film producer. He started his career as a police officer in the Egyptian National Police, before becoming an actor in 1956. He is regarded as one of the most influential actors in the history of Egyptian film industry. Zulfikar had roles in more than hundred feature films in multiple genres during a 37-year career, mostly as the leading actor. In 1996, in the centenary of Egyptian cinema, ten of his films as an actor and five of his films as a producer were listed in the Top hundred Egyptian films of the 20th century. Salah Zulfikar was one of Egypt's heroes in its battle against the occupation while serving in the police.
