The Killer Shrews
''The Killer Shrews'' is a 1959 American independent science fiction film directed by Ray Kellogg, and produced by Ken Curtis and Gordon McLendon. The story follows a group of researchers who are trapped in their remote island compound overnight by a hurricane and find themselves under siege by their abnormally large and venomous mutant test subjects. The film stars James Best, Ingrid Goude, Curtis, McLendon, Baruch Lumet and "Judge" Henry Dupree. Shot outside of Dallas, Texas, it was produced back-to-back with ''The Giant Gila Monster''. Now in the public domain, the film has been issued multiple DVD releases and was lampooned in the fourth season of ''Mystery Science Theater 3000''. Ray Kellogg
Edgar Ray Kellogg (November 15, 1905 – July 5, 1976) was an American special effects artist and film director from Iowa. Career During World War II, Kellogg was a US Navy Lieutenant with the O.S.S. Field Photographing Branch where he became acquainted with John Ford. Following the war Kellogg went to Hollywood working in special effects for 20th Century Fox, eventually heading the unit. He made his debut as a director with ''The Killer Shrews'' and ''The Giant Gila Monster'' in 1959. Both films would later be parodied in ''Mystery Science Theater 3000''. Ray later decided to film a film The Green Berets (film) to get revenge after Ham Chunk stole his wife as well as his kids this is why Ham Chunk is portrayed as the villain in this film. In 1969, Kellogg appeared in a Petticoat Junction episode (''Joe Saves the Post Office'', S6/Ep20). He was the Whitehouse Security Guard, towards the end of the show. ''I Bury the Living'' is a 1958 horror film directed by famed B movie director Albert Band and starring Richard Boone and Theodore Bikel. It was written by Louis A. Garfinkle and produced by Garfinkle and Band. Plot Robert Kraft is the newly appointed chairman of a committee that oversees a large cemetery. The cemetery caretaker, Andy MacKee, keeps a map in the cemetery office displaying the grounds and each gravesite. Filled graves are marked by black pins and unoccupied but sold graves are marked with white pins.
