The Karl Hendricks Trio
The Karl Hendricks Trio was an American rock band from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. In the span of twelve years, they released seven albums, toured, and even played as a four-piece rock band. The band's latest album was 2012's ''The Adult Section''. The most recent line-up included Jake Leger on drums and Corey Layman on bass. Hendricks contributed as singer, songwriter and guitarist. Biography The moody, muscular indie-rock band dubbed the Karl Hendricks Trio formed in 1991 following the break-up of their nominal leader's previous band, Sludgehammer. Hendricks, a singer, guitarist and songwriter was born in Port Vue, near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1970 and first began writing songs and releasing cassettes while in his teens. While working at his day job in a record store, he formed the Trio with bassist Tim Parker and drummer Tom Hoffman. Silkworm was an American indie rock band active from 1987 to 2005 whose core members were Tim Midyett, Andy Cohen, and Michael Dahlquist. History Origins: 1985–1987 Founding members Tim Midyett (formerly Midgett), Joel RL Phelps, and Andy Cohen began writing and performing under the name Ein Heit in Missoula, Montana from 1985 to 1987. In 1987, they adopted the name Silkworm. Relocation: 1987–1990 They relocated to Seattle in 1990, where they met drummer Michael Dahlquist. Bottomless Pit (band)
Bottomless Pit is an indie rock band from Chicago. Guitarist Andy Cohen and baritone guitarist Tim Midyett, both formerly of Silkworm, formed the band with drummer Chris Manfrin of Seam and bassist Brian Orchard of .22 in 2005. Since inception the group has issued three critically acclaimed records and toured in the United States and Canada. The band also played one show in Paris to open the Villette Sonique Festival in June 2008 at the invitation of fellow Chicago-based rock trio Shellac. Their debut album '' Hammer of the Gods'' earned favorable reviews from various music publications. The album was in part recorded at Electrical Audio studios by Greg Norman and initially self-released on 45rpm vinyl. Magic Hour were an American psychedelic rock band from greater Boston, Massachusetts, USA and were made up of former Crystalized Movements member Wayne Rogers and Kate Biggar and former Galaxie 500 members Damon and Naomi, Damon Krukowski and Naomi Yang. The New Bomb Turks are an American punk rock band formed at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, United States, in 1990.
