The Intercept
''The Intercept'' is an American left-wing news website founded by Glenn Greenwald, Jeremy Scahill, Laura Poitras and funded by billionaire eBay co-founder Pierre Omidyar. Its current editor is Betsy Reed. The publication initially reported on documents released by Edward Snowden and was considered to be "activist voice for privacy and civil liberties". Co-founders Greenwald and Poitras subsequently left amid public disagreements about the leadership and direction of the organization. In recent years, the website's editorial stance has become more closely aligned with the hard-left of the Democratic Party. It was among the first to report on the campaign of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and often criticizes moderate democrats from a left-wing perspective. The 2003 invasion of Iraq was a United States-led invasion of the Republic of Iraq and the first stage of the Iraq War.
