The Incident (1990 Film)
''The Incident'' is a 1990 American made-for-television drama film directed by Joseph Sargent and starring Walter Matthau and Harry Morgan which was originally broadcast on CBS on March 4, 1990. The film marked Matthau's return to television after over 20 years. The film was followed by two sequels: '' Against Her Will: An Incident in Baltimore'' (1992) and ''Incident in a Small Town'' (1994). Plot The story takes place in the year 1944 in Lincoln Bluff, a fictional, small Colorado town. The Second World War is still raging when the town's only doctor, George Hansen, is murdered at a local US Army camp, Camp Bremen, holding German prisoners of war. Harmon J. Cobb, a local lawyer, is railroaded by Judge Bell into being the defense attorney for Geiger, the German prisoner accused of killing the doctor, who also happened to have been Cobb's friend. Joseph Sargent
Joseph Sargent (born Giuseppe Danielle Sorgente; July 22, 1925 – December 22, 2014) was an American film director. Though he directed many television movies, his best known feature-length works were arguably the action movie '' White Lightning'' starring Burt Reynolds, the biopic '' MacArthur'' starring Gregory Peck, and the horror anthology ''Nightmares''. His most popular feature film was the subway thriller '' The Taking of Pelham One Two Three''. Sargent won four Emmy Awards over his career. He is the father of voice actress Lia Sargent. William Schallert
William Joseph Schallert (July 6, 1922 – May 8, 2016) was an American character actor who appeared in dozens of television shows and films over a career spanning more than 60 years. He is known for his roles on ''Richard Diamond, Private Detective'' (1957–1959), ''Death Valley Days'' (1955–1962), and ''The Patty Duke Show'' (1963–1966). This is a list of the winners of the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Made for Television Movie, which is awarded since 1992. The category was originally called Outstanding Drama or Comedy Special. In 1991, Outstanding Drama or Comedy Special category was merged with Outstanding Miniseries category to form Outstanding Drama or Comedy Special and Miniseries and the number of nominations increased from five to six. For this year, two miniseries had competed with four "made for television movies". The following year, 1992, the new category was split to re-form the Outstanding Miniseries and Outstanding Made for Television Movie categories. In 2011, the category was merged with the Outstanding Limited Series category to create the Outstanding Miniseries or Movie category. However, in 2014, the decision was reversed, and the separate Miniseries and Television Movie categories were reinstated. The 42nd Primetime Emmy Awards were held on Sunday, September 16, 1990. The ceremony was broadcast on Fox from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, California. Two networks, The Family Channel and The Disney Channel, received their first major nominations. For its second season, ''Murphy Brown'' won Outstanding Comedy Series and two other major awards. David Underwood
David Francis Underwood (born 12 June 1951) is a former Australian politician. He was born in Pittsworth, the son of Frank Underwood. He attended state and Catholic schools in the Darling Downs region before becoming a forestry labourer, shed hand, bank clerk and ultimately schoolteacher. In 1977 he was elected to the Queensland Legislative Assembly as the Labor member for Ipswich West. Helen Joan Stenborg (January 24, 1925 – March 22, 2011) was an American actress of stage, screen, and television. She occasionally acted with her husband, actor Barnard Hughes (1915–2006), to whom she was married for 56 years from 1950 until his death in 2006; they had two children.
