The Ideal Woman
''The Ideal Woman'' (German: ''Die ideale Frau'') is a 1959 West German comedy film directed by Josef von Báky and starring Ruth Leuwerik, Martin Benrath and Boy Gobert. Bock & Berfgelder p.24 It was made at the Bavaria Studios in Munich. The film's sets were designed by the art directors Hans Jürgen Kiebach and Fritz Maurischat. Location shooting took place around Landshut and in Monaco. Synopsis Fanny Becker, the mayor of Rosenburg, meets a former lover and is tempted to resume her romance with him, but eventually decides to remain with her husband (the leader of the opposition in Rosenburg). Fritz Maurischat (April 27, 1893 in Berlin – December 11, 1986) was a German production designer. He made his film debut in 1924. Over the next 38 years, he worked on over 70 films, all of them in his native Germany. He earned an Oscar nomination in 1953 for his work on the film ''Martin Luther'', an American film about Martin Luther made in Germany. West or Occident is one of the four cardinal directions or points of the compass. It is the opposite direction from east and is the direction in which the Sun sets on the Earth. Lukas Ammann (29 September 1912 – 3 May 2017) was a Swiss actor who appeared mainly in German and Swiss films and television shows. He continued to work steadily for over 60 years. He is best known for his title role in the German television series ''Graf Yoster''. Early life Lukas Amann's mother was a singer and his father a painter. After he saw Schiller's ''The Robbers'' at grammar school in Basel, he aspired to be an actor. Starting in 1933 he attended the acting school of Max Reinhardt in Berlin. In 1934, he left Germany with Heinrich Gretler for Switzerland. Because of his Jewish mother, he was discriminated against even in Switzerland. In the beginning he worked in St. Gallen and later at the Schauspielhaus Zürich with Therese Giehse. Agnes Windeck (; 27 March 1888 – 28 September 1975) was a German theatre and film actress. She appeared in more than 50 films between 1939 and 1973. She was born in Hamburg and started her career at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in 1904. She later worked as a teacher at the drama school of the Deutsches Theater in Berlin.
