The Howie Mandel Show
''The Howie Mandel Show'' is an American television variety show hosted by comedian Howie Mandel. The series was launched in daytime syndication on June 22, 1998, and ran for approximately a year before it was canceled in April 1999. Background ''The Howie Mandel Show'' was taped at NBC Studios in Burbank. The show recorded in Studio 1, which was the same studio Johnny Carson taped ''The Tonight Show'' in. Paramount Domestic Television served as distributor. Mandel's show had an in studio band led by Steve Goldstein, referred to on air as the Studio One Band. Mandel would often banter with Goldstein during the opening to the show, which always consisted of a brief monologue by the host. Two celebrities were usually featured along with a musical guest. NBC Studios (New York)
NBC Studios are located in the historic 30 Rockefeller Plaza (on Sixth Avenue between 49th and 50th streets) in Manhattan, New York City. The building houses the NBC television network headquarters, its parent NBCUniversal, and NBC's flagship station WNBC (Channel 4), as well as cable news channel MSNBC. The first NBC Radio City Studios began operating in the early 1930s. Tours of the studios began in 1933, suspended in 2014 and resumed on October 26, 2015. Because of the preponderance of radio studios, that section of the Rockefeller Center complex became known as Radio City (and gave its name to Radio City Music Hall). Howie Do It
''Howie Do It'' was a Canadian/American comedy television series, co-commissioned by Global and NBC, that stars Howie Mandel and DJ Ravidrums. The series features practical jokes in the vein of earlier shows like '' Just for Laughs: Gags'', ''Punk'd'' or ''Candid Camera'' – the supposed twist being that the cameras are in the open, not hidden as in the other series. Mandel appears, often incognito, in several of the jokes. After the big reveal, either Howie or one of his assistants then delivers the line "This is ''Howie Do It''!" The theme song to the show is a remix of "This Is How We Do It" by Montell Jordan, remixed by DJ Ravidrums. The show premiered on NBC and Global TV on January 9, 2009. Mandel also served as an executive producer of the series, along with Scott Hallock and Kevin Healy of ''Spy TV,'' and Morgan Elliot and Michael Rotenberg. Six episodes were ordered. Running Gag
A running gag, or running joke, is a literary device that takes the form of an amusing joke or a comical reference and appears repeatedly throughout a work of literature or other form of storytelling. Though they are similar, catchphrases are not considered to be running gags. Jay Leno
James Douglas Muir Leno (; born April 28, 1950) is an American television host, comedian, writer, and actor. After doing stand-up comedy for years, he became the host of NBC's ''The Tonight Show'' from 1992 to 2009.
