The House By The Sea (1924 Film)
''The House by the Sea'' (German: ''Das Haus am Meer'') is a 1924 German silent film directed by and starring Asta Nielsen, Gregori Chmara and Albert Steinrück.Grange p.169 The film is adapted from the play by Stefan Zweig. The art direction was by Kurt Richter (art director), Kurt Richter. Plot Fisherman Enrico lives happily with Teresa when a band of soldiers appear and accuse her of prostitution. As Enrico's brother is tricked into the Army, Enrico takes his place. Teresa's love for him conquers all. Heinrich Nebenzahl
Heinrich Nebenzahl (1870–1938) was an Austrian-born film producer.Prawer p.7 In 1925 he founded the German production company Nero Film which prospered under the management of his son Seymour Nebenzahl. In 1933 the Jewish Nebenzahls were forced to leave Germany by the coming to power of the Nazi Party. They resettled in Paris where Seymour continued to operate the company following the Nazi censorship of Seymour's film made with Fritz Lang. The Testament of Dr. Mabuse. In 1938 Heinrich died and his son Seymour and grandson, film producer Harold Nebenzal subsequently relocated to the United States. Kurt Richter (1885–1960) was an Austrian art director of the silent era. Hermann Vallentin
Hermann Vallentin (24 May 1872 – 18 September 1945) was a German actor. Biography Hermann Vallentin was born in Berlin in 1872. He was the son of a Jewish timber merchant and factory owner, Felix Vallentin. He was the older brother of actress Rosa Valetti. After training as an actor at the Royal Theatre in Berlin with Max Grube and Hans Oberländer, he received his first engagement at the Central-Theatre in Berlin in the 1895/96 season. In the next few years, appearances on various Berlin stages followed. From 1914, Vallentin was also a film actor. He mostly embodied fatherly figures, patriarchs and directors, but also small-minded philistines. In the 1931 film version of '' Der Hauptmann von Köpenick'', he played the uniform tailor Adolph Wormser. The seizure of power by the National Socialists in 1933, ended his film career abruptly.
