The House Of Gristle
''The House of Gristle'' is a British children's comedy sketch series for Children's BBC which ran for nine weeks from 7 April 1994 until 2 June 1994. This was the Gristle family that had previously appeared in ''Dizzy Heights''. This was mainly down to Steve Nallon Steve Nallon (born 8 November 1960) is a British actor, writer, voice artist and impressionist (entertainment), impressionist. Nallon began his career as a stand-up performer on the northern club circuit in the 1970s. He is known for his work as ...'s puppetry and voice talents. The main concept behind the show was that an ordinary family, the Gristles, had been given their own television series and so they produced a sort of amateur "Family Television Channel", creating their own special versions of television programmes of the day. Children's television series (or children's television shows) are television show, television programs designed for children, normally scheduled for broadcast during the morning and afternoon when children are awake. Steve Nallon
Steve Nallon (born 8 November 1960) is a British actor, writer, voice artist and impressionist (entertainment), impressionist. Nallon began his career as a stand-up performer on the northern club circuit in the 1970s. He is known for his work as a voice artist on the satire, satirical puppet show ''Spitting Image'' and for impersonating Margaret Thatcher on television throughout her time as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Prime Minister of the UK (1979–1990). In his career Steve Nallon has performed a number of roles and characters as an actor and as a voice artist in theatre, film, television and radio. Early life Nallon grew up in a working-class family in Leeds in the 1960s. His father was a church caretaker who had a long history of mental health issues. William Todd-Jones
William Todd-Jones (born 1958) is a Welsh puppeteer, puppet designer, performer, director, movement consultant and writer for film, television and theatre in the UK and abroad. As an environmentalist, Todd-Jones is a longstanding patron of the wildlife charity Save The Rhino International, and has been involved with many other conservation projects. Early life Todd-Jones grew up in the village of Nantyglo in Wales. He attended Hafod y Ddol grammar school and Nantyglo Comprehensive School. He studied dance and acting at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff. He then left for America to, as he put it, "Escape Thatcher, write poetry, seek opportunity and discover myself." BBC One
BBC One is a British free-to-air public broadcast television network owned and operated by the BBC. Children's BBC
BBC Children's and Education is the BBC division responsible for media content for children in the UK. Since the launch of specially dedicated television channels in 2002, the services have been marketed under two brands. CBBC (short for Children's BBC or initialed for Children's British Broadcasting Corporation) is aimed at children aged between 6 and 12, and CBeebies offers content for younger viewers. Studio Audience
A studio audience is an audience present for the recording of all or part of a television program or radio program. The primary purpose of the studio audience is to provide applause and/or laughter to the program's soundtrack (as opposed to canned laughter). In the United States, tickets to be a part of a studio audience are usually given away. However, as an enticement to attend, one or more members of the audience may be selected to win a prize, which is usually provided by a manufacturer in exchange for an advertisement, usually at the end of the show.
