The Heacock Classic
The Heacock Classic (known as the Trans-Am at COTA or Austin Speedtour or COTA Trans Am 100 or Heacock Classic from Trans-Am) is a Trans-Am Race that was held for the first time in the 2015 Trans-Am Series at Circuit of the Americas and was added as an expansion to the schedule. The race is usually held on October or November in the Trans-Am Series schedule. The race is scheduled with the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association for the weekend. The West Coast Championship race has been added along the National Championship race since 2017 making Circuit of the Americas one of the tracks to host both events on the same weekend. Circuit of the Americas provided the closest finish in Trans-Am history, it was in the 2018 TA2 race when Gar Robinson passed Misha Goikhberg at the COTA Muscle Car Challenge by .064 seconds. Shane Lewis (born August 8, 1967) is an American racing driver who has competed primarily in sports car racing. He also competes in off-road racing and short course SXS racing. Career Shane Lewis's motorsport career began in 1989 in Southern California. At the end of the year, he won the 20th edition of the United States Formula Ford Festival. From 1991 onwards, he started regularly in SCCA and IMSA races. In 1995 he won the IMSA supercar races at Mid-Ohio and Phoenix. Tomy Drissi ( ; born December 9, 1958) is an American professional stock and sports car racing driver, and an advertising executive in the movie industry. A long-time competitor in the Sports Car Club of America's Trans-Am Series, he was the series' 2009 Champion. Racing career Drissi first became involved in motorsports through his participation in illegal street racing, primarily on Mulholland Drive in Hollywood's Hollywood Hills, starting at the age of 16. He began legitimate competition in 1993, when he became involved in vintage racing, primarily at Willow Springs Raceway. Natalie Marie Decker (born June 25, 1997) is an American professional stock car racing driver. 2021 Trans-Am Series
The 2021 Trans-Am Series season was the 53rd running of the Trans-Am Series. The National Championship began on February 19 and will run for 14 rounds with one being only for TA2 cars and two only paying points for the Pro/Am Challenge. The Pro/Am Challenge was held for the first time to help SCCA competitors try out Trans Am. Points were given for two specific Pro/Am Challenge races and four other races of competitor's choice in either the national Trans Am Series or the Trans Am West Coast Championship. Raphael Matos (born August 28, 1981) is a Brazilian professional racing driver. He was the 2008 Firestone Indy Lights Series champion and the 2007 Champ Car Atlantic Series champion. The 2020 Trans-Am Series season is the 52nd running of the Trans-Am Series. The National Championship began on March 1 and will run for twelve rounds. Ginetta G55
The Ginetta G55 is a specialist sports car, which has been built by Ginetta Cars since 2011. It is built to the FIA GT3 regulations, and the cars are raced in a one-make series; the Ginetta GT Supercup. In addition to this, they are also used in the GT3 class of competitions such as the British GT Championship. It was an evolutionary update of the Ginetta G50, which is a GT4-class car. Cup Ginetta Cars announced in November 2010 that they were going to be building a new sports car, and named it as the G55. In February 2011, the car was released, as a more powerful evolution of the G50.
