''The Haunted Mine'' is a 1946 American Western (genre), Western film directed by Derwin Abrahams and written by Frank H. Young. This is the twentieth and final film in the "Marshal Nevada Jack McKenzie" series, and stars Johnny Mack Brown as Jack McKenzie and Raymond Hatton as his sidekick Sandy Hopkins, with Linda Leighton, Riley Hill (actor), Riley Hill, John Merton and Ray Bennett. Derwin Abrahams (1903–1974) was an American film director. He directed four serials in the 1940s for Columbia Pictures, including ''Hop Harrigan'', ''Chick Carter, Detective'', ''Tex Granger'', and ''Son of the Guardsman'', followed by '' The Great Adventures of Captain Kidd'' in 1953.Cline, William C. Marshall Reed
Marshall Jewel Reed (May 28, 1917 – April 15, 1980) was an American actor who appeared in over 200 films between 1943 and 1978. He was born in Englewood, Colorado. Early years Reed's parents were Walter George Reed and Ruth Dustin. By age 10, he was acting in children's theater, and he managed two drama groups while he was in high school. Lynton Wright Brent (August 2, 1897 – July 2, 1981) was an American film actor and a writer. He appeared in over 240 films between 1930 and 1950. Brent is best known for his prolific work with Columbia Pictures in the Three Stooges short subjects such as ''A Ducking They Did Go'' and '' From Nurse to Worse''. In addition to his film career, Brent also wrote a number of literary works, notably '' Lesbian Gang''. Terry Lawrence Frost (October 26, 1906 – March 1, 1993) was an American actor who appeared in dozens of Western films during the 1940s and 1950s. Biography Frost was born in Bemidji, Minnesota. Before he became an actor, he spent six years working as a cowboy, jack-of-all-trades, lumberjack, miner, and salesman across the United States. Frost began his entertainment career in vaudeville in 1929. In 1941, his film career began when he portrayed Sam Emery in ''Law of the Range''. Claire Whitney (May 6, 1890 – August 27, 1969) was an American stage and film actress who appeared in 111 films between 1912 and 1949. Only 21 of these films survive, as most have been lost. Whitney gained early acting experience with a stock theater company in Massachusetts, following which she toured the United States in a vaudeville production of ''Little Mother''.
