The Haunted Castle (1960 Film)
''The Haunted Castle'' (german: Das Spukschloß im Spessart) is a 1960 West German comedy film directed by Kurt Hoffmann. It was entered into the 2nd Moscow International Film Festival where it won the Silver Prize. The film is a sequel to ''The Spessart Inn'' (1958) and was followed by '' Glorious Times at the Spessart Inn'' (1967). It was shot at the Bavaria Studios in Munich. The film's sets were designed by the art directors Hein Heckroth and Willy Schatz Willy Schatz (1903–1976) was a German art director of Baltic German origin. Kurt Hoffmann
Kurt Hoffmann (12 November 1910 – 25 June 2001) was a German film director, the son of Carl Hoffmann. He directed 48 films between 1938 and 1971. He ran a production company Independent Film along with Heinz Angermeyer. His 1958 film ''Wir Wunderkinder'' was entered into the 1st Moscow International Film Festival and his 1960 film '' The Haunted Castle'' was entered into the 2nd Moscow International Film Festival where it won the Silver Prize. Hans Richter (12 January 1919 – 5 October 2008) was a German film actor. He appeared in more than 130 films between 1931 and 1984, mostly in supporting roles. He was born in Brandenburg, Germany and died in Heppenheim, Germany. Life and career Hans Richter made his film debut as "Fliegender Hirsch" in Gerhard Lamprecht's ''Emil and the Detectives'' (1931), based on the novel of the same name by Erich Kästner. In the following years, Richter become a popular juvenile actor; often playing clever, somewhat cheeky boys (a type similar to Mickey Rooney in the American film during the 1930s).
