''The Hart and Lorne Terrific Hour'' is a Canadian television variety show that aired on CBC Television in 1970 and 1971. It was part of ''Sunday At Nine'', a CBC anthology that included documentaries, dramas (such as '' Corwin''), and "light entertainment", both domestic and imported. The show starred Hart Pomerantz and Lorne Michaels. The show mixed comedy sketches with musical guests, in a format similar to ''Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In'', the show that Michaels was working on before returning to Canada to star in his own show. Variety show, also known as variety arts or variety entertainment, is entertainment made up of a variety of acts including musical theatre, musical performances, sketch comedy, magic (illusion), magic, acrobatics, juggling, and ventriloquism. Jacqueline "Jackie" Burroughs (2 February 1939 – 22 September 2010) was a British-born Canadian actress. Early life Born in Southport, Lancashire (now Merseyside), England, she emigrated to Canada on 26 August 1948 with her mother Edna, her father Harry and younger brother Gary. Wayne and Shuster were a Canadian double act, comedy duo formed by Johnny Wayne and Frank Shuster. They were active professionally from the early 1940s until the late 1980s, first as a live act, then on radio, then as part of ''The Army Show'' that entertained troops in Europe during World War II, and then on both Canadian and American television. Steve Weston (1940 – May 12, 1985) was a Canadians, Canadian television and theatre actor. He is best known to Canadian audiences from his stint as the husband in the Situation comedy, sitcom ''The Trouble With Tracy'', and as a series regular on the sketch comedy series ''Bizarre (TV series), Bizarre''. However, he was also an accomplished stage actor and once played the role of Gooper Pollitt in a Toronto production of ''Cat on a Hot Tin Roof''. Also appeared on the short lived CBLT TV (Toronto Comedy) Sunday Morning with a cast that included Rosemary Radcliffe. Weston's death was the result of a fall from a roof.
