The Guard (TV Series)
''The Guard'' is a Canadian drama television series portraying the life of the Canadian Coast Guard along the British Columbia Coast. Filming takes place in Squamish, British Columbia with Howe Sound standing in for the fictional Port Hallet and a real 47-foot Coast Guard lifeboat ''Cape St. James'' has been renamed ''Cape Pacific'' for the series. The show primarily revolves around the four main characters: Miro Da Silva (Steve Bacic), Laura Nelson (Claudette Mink - Season 1; Sonya Salomaa - Seasons 2 and 3), Andrew Vanderlee ( Jeremy Guilbaut), and Carly Greig (Zoie Palmer). There is also a strong supporting cast, including Gordon Michael Woolvett (as Barry Winter), who worked with Bacic previously on '' Andromeda'', and Eve Harlow, who won a 2009 Leo Award for her role on the show. ''The Guard'' (russian: Караул, Karaul) is a 1990 Soviet drama film directed by Aleksandr Rogozhkin. It was entered into the 40th Berlin International Film Festival where it won the Alfred Bauer Prize. The film is shot entirely in Photographic print toning#Sepia toning, sepia. Plot The film is based on the real story of a Soviet Internal Troops soldier who killed his entire unit (the ''karaul'') as a result of Dedovschina. The plot unfolds mostly on board of the prisoner transport Stolypin car, rail car guarded by a unit of paramilitary conscripts. ''The Guard'' is a 2001 Indian Malayalam-language film directed and written by debutante Hakim Rawther. It was jointly produced by Sabitha Jayaraj (Green Dragon Movies) and Kerala State Film Development Corporation (KSFDC). The film has Kalabhavan Mani, the only actor on screen, playing the role of a forest guard in an isolated dense forest. '' Yaadein'' (Hindi, 1964), which featured two actors, previously held the Guinness World Records in the category Fewest actors in a narrative film. The crew of ''The Guard '' made an attempt to replace the former record but failed. The film features cinematography by Saloo George, editing by Venugopal and artwork by Nathan Mannoor.
