The Growl
The Growl is a band from Fremantle, Western Australia, formed by Tame Impala bass guitarist, and vocalist Cam Avery. History The Growl is known for having two drummers. Their first EP was mixed by Brian Lucey, who had worked on The Black Keys' album Brothers. In 2012 and 2013, the band went on an international tour supporting Tame Impala. After touring the United States and Canada with Tame Impala, The Growl returned to the shores of their homeland, Australia, in April 2013 to mark the release of their debut LP ''What Would Christ Do??'' with a national headline tour. Blues is a music genre and musical form which originated in the Deep South of the United States around the 1860s. Tame Impala is the psychedelic music project of Australian multi-instrumentalist Kevin Parker. In the recording studio, Parker writes, records, performs, and produces all of the project's music. Pond (Australian Band)
Pond are a psychedelic rock band from Perth, Western Australia, formed in 2008. Initially featuring a revolving line-up, since 2016 the band has consisted of Nick Allbrook, Jay Watson, Shiny Joe Ryan, Jamie Terry, and James Ireland. Pond is often heavily associated with fellow Perth-based psychedelic rock/pop band Tame Impala, as members of both groups are longtime close friends and collaborators. Watson is currently a full-time member of both acts. Lead singer Allbrook contributed to both bands from 2009 to 2013 before leaving Tame Impala to focus on Pond and his own solo career. Cam Avery
Cameron Avery (born 21 April 1988) is an Australian multi-instrumentalist, musician, singer and songwriter. He is best known as a member of the bands Pond and Tame Impala, and as the frontman for The Growl. Early life Born in East Fremantle, Avery moved around north of Perth for a number of years; living in the town of Broome until the age of 6, when his parents split up. At 7 years old, he temporarily settled in Como, and attended Collier Primary School. He claims he never fit in at school, and "wasn't really good at anything besides choir". Avery then moved on to live in his grandmother's house in Leeming with his mother, and brother Eliott. The Black Keys
The Black Keys are an American rock duo formed in Akron, Ohio, in 2001. The group consists of Dan Auerbach (guitar, vocals) and Patrick Carney (drums). The duo began as an independent act, recording music in basements and self-producing their records, before they eventually emerged as one of the most popular garage rock artists during a second wave of the genre's revival in the 2000s.
