The Green Hope
''The Green Hope'' is a 2000 Hong Kong television drama produced by TVB under producer Tsang Kan-cheong and starring Bowie Lam, Stephen Fung, Yoyo Mung, Joey Yung, Melissa Ng and Cathy Tsui. Synopsis In a cold Christmas in 1996, the workaholic Fong Kin-choi ( Lau Dan) has been sick in bed. His dying wish is to find his youngest son Ka-him ( Stephen Fung), who lived with his mother due to the divorce 12 years ago. After 12 years, Kin-choi's oldest son, Ka-fai (Bowie Lam), found out that his younger brother suffers from mental illness due to their mother, Wong Yuen-fan (Mary Hon) being drug abuser and forcing Ka-him to do illegal things since young age. After his father died, Ka-fai took Ka-him in and helped him get back on his track as living as a normal person. Ka-fai notices his brother is a gifted musician, but his talent is hidden for years. Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB) is a television broadcasting company based in Hong Kong SAR. The Company operates five free-to-air terrestrial television channels in Hong Kong, with TVB Jade as its main Cantonese language service, and TVB Pearl as its main English service. TVB is headquartered at TVB City at the Tseung Kwan O Industrial Estate. TVB commenced broadcasting on November 19, 1967. Eddy Ko Hung (; born Ho Yiu-sum ; 1947) is a Hong Kong television and film actor who has worked on the TV stations RTV, ATV (both now defunct), and TVB. Most recently, he has made appearances in several international films including 2015's ''The Martian''. Background Ko was born Ho Yiu-sum in Zhongshan in 1947. Kwan Hoi-san
Herman Kwan Hoi-San () (born Kwan Ming-kok; October 23, 1925 – September 11, 2006) was a Hong Kong actor. His English name was Herman Kwan. Kwan started off as a Cantonese opera actor in street theatre before joining New Voice Opera Troupe (新聲劇團). He also started singing for early Hong Kong film soundtracks and moved on to act in films, mostly adaption of opera in Cantonese. He became famous and acted in many lead roles. When Hong Kong films started to move towards Mandarin, Kwan's career faltered and joined TVB and acted in various roles.
