"The Great Phatsby" is the twelfth and thirteenth episodes of the The Simpsons (season 28), twenty-eighth season of the American animated television series ''The Simpsons'', and the 608th and 609th episodes of the series overall. The first part was directed by Chris Clements (animation director), Chris Clements and written by Dan Greaney. The second part was directed by Timothy Bailey and written by Dan Greaney and Matt Selman. The episodes aired in the United States on Fox Broadcasting Company, Fox on January 15, 2017. It was the first two-part episode of the series since "Who Shot Mr. Burns?", though it was promoted and aired as the show’s first hour-long episode in its initial airing. The episode is a spoof of F. Chris Clements is an animation director with ''The Simpsons''. Prior to that, he was a character layout artist with the show. The Great Gatsby
''The Great Gatsby'' is a 1925 novel by American writer F. Scott Fitzgerald. Set in the Jazz Age on Long Island, near New York City, the novel depicts First-person narrative, first-person narrator Nick Carraway's interactions with mysterious millionaire Jay Gatsby and Gatsby's obsession to reunite with his former lover, Daisy Buchanan. The novel was inspired by a youthful romance Fitzgerald had with socialite Ginevra King, and the riotous parties he attended on Long Island's North Shore (Long Island), North Shore in 1922. Waylon Smithers
Waylon Joseph Smithers Jr., usually referred to as Mr. Smithers or simply Smithers, is a recurring fictional character in the animated sitcom ''The Simpsons'', voiced by Harry Shearer.
