The Gerry Ryan Show
''The Gerry Ryan Show'' (often referred to as ''The Ryan Show'', ''The G. Ryan Show'' or ''GRS'') was RTÉ 2fm's mid-morning radio show. Presented by Gerry Ryan until hours before his sudden death, it was launched in March 1988 and ran from nine until midday on weekday mornings. Described by the BBC as "a de facto forum for the nation, the radio equivalent of '' The Late Late Show'' on RTÉ television", the show, in its later years, popularised the satire of ''Nob Nation'', spawned the cross-media event '' Operation Transformation'' and provided a launchpad for the career of Ryan Tubridy. English Language
English is a West Germanic language of the Indo-European language family, with its earliest forms spoken by the inhabitants of early medieval England. ''Gift Grub'' is a series of short comic pieces broadcast on weekdays on The Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show on the Irish commercial radio station Today FM, having been broadcast since May 1999. History A precursor to "Gift Grub" originally aired on Today FM's predecessor, Radio Ireland, as a series of sketches called "Starship Compromise". This Star Trek parody featured a caricature of Gerry Adams as a starship captain accompanied by Martin McGuinness, with the two scouring the galaxy, seeking compromise with alien beings. In 1998, presenter Ian Dempsey joined the newly renamed Today FM which had replaced Radio Ireland. A year later, in March 1999, Paul McLoone joined Today FM and became a producer for the Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show. Today FM is an Irish national commercial FM radio station, owned and operated by Bauer Audio Ireland Limited. Broadcasting since 17 March 1997, it broadcasts mostly music, with a daily news and current affairs programme. Today FM holds a licence from the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland as far as the year 2027. Brenda Donohue
Brenda Donohue (born c. 1966) is an Irish radio and television presenter. Personal life Donohue is one of five children born to Mary and Michael Donohue in Newbridge, County Kildare. She is a graduate of University College Dublin, where she studied history and economics. She is married with three children. Career Donohue came to the notice of an RTÉ producer during a live broadcast on the University College Dublin campus in the late 1980s. Jenny Huston
Jenny Huston (born 24 August 1973) is a Canadian presenter of radio and television in Ireland. She was disc jockey on RTÉ 2fm, an occasional presenter on RTÉ Radio 1 and a television presenter with channels operated by Raidió Teilifís Éireann.; Huston presents an indie rock and pop music show on Friday nights and a rock anthems show which is broadcast on Sunday nights.
