The Gentle Crackdown
''The Gentle Crackdown'' (Traditional Chinese: 秀才遇著兵) is a TVB costume comedy series broadcast in May 2005. An indirect sequel, ''The Gentle Crackdown II'' ( 秀才愛上兵) was produced and broadcast in 2008 continued with only Wayne Lai, alongside Steven Ma, Yumiko Cheng, and Ha Yu. Synopsis What would happen when a slow-paced scholar meets an impetuous constable? During the Ming Dynasty, the world is full of corrupt officials. Master Constable Luk Chin (Yuen Wah) fell in love with the female outlaw Fei Ying (Michelle Yim) and they have a daughter - Luk Sap-Yee (Niki Chow). Hoping to follow in her father's footsteps, Sap-Yee is an impulsive and idealistic constable whose skill and competence is often dismissed by her corrupt male peers. Cindy Au
Cindy Au Sin-yi (born December 16, 1979) is a Hong Kong TVB actress. She plays major supporting roles in drama serials. Career Cindy Au Sin-yi began her entertainment career as a singer, and was famous for the theme song to the Cantonese version of the cartoon ''Chibi Maruko-chan''. Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB) is a television broadcasting company based in Hong Kong SAR. The Company operates five free-to-air terrestrial television channels in Hong Kong, with TVB Jade as its main Cantonese language service, and TVB Pearl as its main English service. Yuen Wah (born Yung Kai-chi; 2 September 1952) is a Hong Kong action film actor, action choreographer, stuntman and martial artist who has appeared in over 160 films and over 20 television series. Early life Born Yung Kai-chi on 2 September 1950 in Hong Kong, Kai attended the China Drama Academy, a Peking opera school in Hong Kong in the late 1950s and 1960s. He was instructed by Master Yu Jim Yuen and became a member of the Seven Little Fortunes along with fellow students including Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, Yuen Biao, Yuen Qiu and Corey Yuen. Like the other students, he took his sifu's given name – " Yuen". In his biography, Jackie Chan stated that Yuen Wah's martial arts ability was well respected among his fellow students.
