Benjamin Stoloff (October 6, 1895 – September 8, 1960) was an American film director and producer. He began his career as a short film comedy director and gradually moved into feature film directing and production later in his career. Charles Gorman (actor)
Charles Gorman (1865 – January 25, 1928), was an American actor of the silent era. He appeared in more than 80 films between 1908 and 1929. He died in New York City. He was part of an act called "The Gorman Brothers". They performed in vaudeville with many stage and future film stars such Marie Dressler. Foxes are small to medium-sized, omnivorous mammals belonging to several genera of the family Canidae. Eye Filmmuseum is a film archive, museum, and cinema in Amsterdam that preserves and presents both Dutch and foreign films screened in the Netherlands. Location and history Eye Filmmuseum is located in the Overhoeks neighborhood of Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Its predecessor was the Dutch Historical Film Archive, founded in 1946 by David van Staveren, Felix Halverstad, and directors of Filmtheater Kriterion Piet Meerburg and Paul Kijzer. Following the accession of the archives of the Filmtheater de Uitkijk, the archive was renamed the Netherlands Filmmuseum under the leadership of its first director, film collector Jan de Vaal. Ted McNamara
Edward Joseph McNamara (19 September 1894 – February 1928) was an Australian vaudevillian who made a career on stage in Australia, the United States, and in Hollywood silent films before dying suddenly in 1928. At various times he has credited as Ted McNamara, Teddy McNamara, and Teddie McNamara. Biography McNamara was born in Melbourne, Australia. As a juvenile, he appeared on stage in numerous productions while travelling Australia and New Zealand, with great acclaim. In 1905, he joined a long tour by Pollard's Lilliputian Opera Company through Japan, China, Canada and the US, the company achieving considerable renown. He married former company member and Australian actress Phyllis Hill in Canada in 1913, while both were underage. She returned to Australia in 1915, obtaining a divorce nine years later, in 1926, on the grounds of desertion. There was one child of the union. Comedy Film
A comedy film is a category of film which emphasizes humor. These films are designed to make the audience laugh through amusement. Films in this style traditionally have a happy ending (black comedy being an exception). Comedy is one of the oldest genres in film and it is derived from the classical comedy in theatre. Some of the earliest silent films were comedies, as slapstick comedy often relies on visual depictions, without requiring sound. When sound films became more prevalent during the 1930s, comedy films took another swing, as laughter could result from burlesque situations but also dialogue. Comedy, compared with other film genres, puts much more focus on individual stars, with many former stand-up comics transitioning to the film industry due to their popularity.
