''The Gatling Gun'' originally titled ''King Gun'' is a Western shot in 1969 in New Mexico that features then New Mexico Governor David Cargo in a small role.p.144 Cargo, David Francis ''Lonesome Dave'' Sunstone Press, 1 May 2010 The final film of director Robert Gordon, was not released until 1971. Plot Lured by Apache gold, two cavalry troopers desert their post, killing some of their fellow troopers in order to steal a Gatling Gun. The devious two use a pacifist pastor to bring the weapon across the country. A pursuing cavalry patrol kills one of the deserters and captures the other, however the recovered weapon has been made inoperable. Robert Gordon (director)
Robert Gordon (August 21, 1913 in Pittsburgh – December 1, 1990 in Los Angeles) was an American director and actor. His acting career, in which he was usually credited as Bobby Gordon, began in 1923 while he was a child, and continued through 1939. His first directing credit came with the 1947 film '' Blind Spot'', after which he directed several films, including ''The Joe Louis Story'' in 1953, ''It Came from Beneath the Sea'' in 1955, '' Black Zoo'' in 1963; and television series episodes including ''My Friend Flicka'', ''Zane Grey Theater'', '' The Texan'' and ''The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis''. Steve Conte (January 16, 1920 – April 28, 1997) was an Italian-born American actor who immigrated with his family to the United States in the early 1920s. He often played henchmen, thugs, and criminal types, besides playing ethnicities. His career lasted nearly thirty-seven years in both film and television. He appeared in approximately fifty different television series and more than thirty films. He worked at least a half dozen times with B Grade director Jerry Warren.
