Boston Garden
The Boston Garden was an arena in Boston, Massachusetts. Designed by boxing promoter Tex Rickard, who also built the third iteration of New York's Madison Square Garden, it opened on November 17, 1928, as "Boston Madison Square Garden" (later shortened to just "Boston Garden") and outlived its original namesake by 30 years. It was above North Station, a train station which was originally a hub for the Boston and Maine Railroad and is now a hub for MBTA Commuter Rail and Amtrak trains. The Garden hosted home games for the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League (NHL) and the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association (NBA), as well as rock concerts, amateur sports, boxing and professional wrestling matches, circuses, and ice shows. It was also used as an exposition hall for political rallies such as the speech by John F. Kennedy in November 1960. Boston Garden was demolished in 1998, three years after the completion of its successor arena, TD Garden. Design Ric ...

The Garden (1990 Film)
''The Garden'' is a 1990 United Kingdom, British art film, arthouse film directed by Derek Jarman and produced by James Mackay (film producer), James Mackay for Basilisk Communications, in association with Channel 4, British Screen, and ZDF. The film is loosely based on the story of Christ's crucifixion, except the figure of Christ is replaced with a gay, homosexual male couple. The film has been seen as an allegory of the suffering gays were going through during the AIDS crisis and their being ostracized by many in society. The film was entered into the 17th Moscow International Film Festival. Overview Lacking almost any dialogue, the film is shown as Jarman's own subjective musings, which are tempered by the reality of his own mortality—when HIV-positive Jarman made the film he was facing death from AIDS. Jarman reads a moving elegy to lost friends at the film's end. The film follows a seemingly innocent and loving homosexual, male couple whose idealistic existence i ...

William Robinson (gardener)
William Robinson (5 July 1838 – 17 May 1935) was an Irish practical gardener and journalist whose ideas about wild gardening spurred the movement that led to the popularising of the English cottage garden, a parallel to the search for honest simplicity and vernacular style of the British Arts and Crafts movement, and were important in promoting the woodland garden. Robinson is credited as an early practitioner of the mixed herbaceous border of hardy perennial plants, a champion too of the "wild garden", who vanquished the high Victorian pattern garden of planted-out bedding schemes. Robinson's new approach to gardening gained popularity through his magazines and several books—particularly ''The Wild Garden'', illustrated by Alfred Parsons (artist), Alfred Parsons, and ''The English Flower Garden''. Robinson advocated more natural and less formal-looking plantings of hardy perennials, shrubs, and vine, climbers, and reacted against the High Victorian era, Victorian patte ...
